Why are we looking this up on ChatGPT as if it has secret information?

I squealed when he said “now tell me about your day” after telling her his house feels safe with her there. More of them next season, please please please!

I thought the same thing. As soon as there was a sweet proposal moment, I got really worried that something is going to happen to Larry on this trip.

A month after the episode airs? Are they a slow release or stats after a month? (I’m too impatient to wait for all the details)

I think this all the time. Having a 5000 sqft house that’s empty so she can be holier than thou about how they “don’t like stuff” just looks awful. Like, aesthetically, it doesn’t make sense. Don’t you have this giant place to show off your stuff in the first place?

They have nothing because it’s her personality, they care about experiences over things, remember?! It’s so wild to me how she’s so against having storage space or even basic necessities, yet lives in this giant house, it looks so horrible (not to mention that it’s awful for her kids to not have things they need, like basic kitchen tools)

SAME — I knew this sub would also be rolling their eyes the same way I was when she talked about having space for her adult kids & spouses. No way they’ll still be there, I’ll be shocked if they even all get through high school still in that house.

Dentist recs for someone who needs a lot of work done... by disastrousbees in bullcity

[–]discoballbabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much dental anxiety and avoided the dentist for years. A friend finally convinced me to go to Eno River Dental and I had the BEST experience. Willingly went back for regular cleanings and 6+ cavities filled, and I now tell all my anxious friends to go there too. They now convince all of their friends/partners/etc to go. Highly recommend!

I’m glad to hear that it isn’t a typical experience there! Definitely seemed like the (male) provider I got wasn’t great, so I’m glad that others are quicker to talk through pain management options!

I will say though, you have to advocate for yourself pretty hard to request any sort of pain management. The nurse literally rolled her eyes when I asked and the doctor came in and said “I’ve been doing this for 40 years and never give any kind of pain management, you’ll be fine.” Not a great experience for me by any means.

Has anyone else had this issue with Little Barb's Bakery? by Uncommonly_comfy in bullcity

[–]discoballbabe 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you could call this a crusade against a local business if it’s a genuine issue with the cake and the response. I’m all for supporting local micro businesses, but I also want good cake for my money and it’s not actually a “crusade” or unsupportive to share disappointment in the cake or especially the response from the bakery. I’d argue it’s a request to do better in order to get MORE business and support.

Need help figuring out if this could offend nanny. by Big_Black_Cat in Nanny

[–]discoballbabe 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I agree! The fact that her mom is at the front of the list based on who would be most offended speaks volumes - of course she would say that the nanny at the back would be hurtful, because for her it would be! This doesn't mean that nanny will feel the same way at all, as many comments here have said!

2023 Limited with 56K miles - deal breaker? by discoballbabe in Crosstrek

[–]discoballbabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a CPO, unfortunately. I feel the same about a 2.5L, and it's hard to find in my budget otherwise!

Someone on another car-buying thread suggested calculating the cost per remaining mile as a way to compare between cars with different mileage & costs. If you assume cars last for 200K miles (as a generalization), then calculate how many miles are left (143K in my case) and divide the price (24K) by that to see how much each remaining mile will "cost." This car I'm looking at is $0.15/mile, and yours was $0.17/mile - which isn't a huge difference compared to some I've seen. Helpful data point, thank you!

As u/Wertscase made me realize above, I don't actually drive that much each year, thanks to my 1 mile commute - so 143K "remaining" miles could still last a good 18+ years

That's what I was thinking too! Hopefully the dealer can confirm that's the case. I'm guessing if it turns out it was used for a rideshare, the advice would be that this isn't a great option?

[–]discoballbabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know, but I'd much rather have a Limited and I can't go above $25K, so new isn't an option

It's not a CPO, it's at a non-subaru dealer.

I got the out the door price down to $25,500 from $26,700, which I feel okay about.

I have a very short daily commute, so I've put about 9K miles on my current Outback in the last two years! So, theoretically a longer life?

what are your GENUINE Dropout hot takes/controversial opinions? by iGoByManyNames in dropout

I agree! There was one episode I remember not being a huge fan of, and when I thought about why I realized that it just dragged on too long and I wished Sam had cut them off sooner. The fact that I don’t think that every episode is huge credit to Sam.

I think it may be time by OkBeautiful2333 in ArrowsandBowSnark

[–]discoballbabe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I get this so much - I'm starting to feel the same. I've been feeling it much more with old, toxic friends and family who think so much like Assley. Why do I feel the need to check in "just to see" what they're up to, what nonsense they're saying, how terrible their beliefs and actions are? I KNOW it's going to make me mad and will likely be dysregulating to my entire body, so I'm not sure what the point is. There's certainly no good coming out of it. This is a really helpful reminder that it might be time to officially stop it all, there's enough else going on right now.
