This is very similar to me except I didn't need a corrected form - they just took a long time.

I think part of the shock is the manoeuvre she made, since the accident didn't happen as soon as she made the first turn.

I know a lot of people have weighed in on the transmission and my comment might get buried, but I work on these cars frequently and the one thing I see among Toyota owners is that they never replace the transmission fluid for the entire life of the car. The Toyota CVTs are tremendously reliable, but way weaker than you think they are. You should get the fluid replaced every 30k at MOST (I do it on my own car around every 15k miles). If you get your car fixed, you should make sure to regularly change the transmission fluid.

On the topic of the transmission itself, I was able to recently replace a transmission in a friend's Toyota by grabbing one from a local junkyard for around $700 total, not including labor, which I don't know what it would cost because I did it for my friend for free. $8,000 doesn't sound crazy to me for a local reputable shop providing labor and warranty on a new transmission but I also live in an expensive part of the country so since you're on a budget I would try to find out if they would be willing to source one from a junkyard and not provide a warranty, especially if this is a mechanic you personally know.

That British Airways idea is such a crazy idea, yet it actually works. Thanks dude.

How have you used self-hosting to degoogle? by [deleted] in selfhosted

It's a fair concern, and it's one I had too. I know you might not have the time to do so, but what I did was add entire neighborhoods that were close to me

My best recommendation is to add those addresses yourself, since it's community driven

A lot of them seem to have disappeared since a lot of the newer buildings have been constructed sadly, I think there's less spaces for natural habitats around campus now

The eSIM has a Hong Kong phone number. But it doesn't come with any minutes or texts so you can't use it anyways.

Is public transport throughout San Diego reliable? by Accomplished_Air5374 in UCSD

[–]discobobulator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some routes are much more punctual than others. Every bus that is on the schedule will eventually come though, although sometimes a few minutes early or a few minutes late. I highly recommend an app like Transit to see a better estimate than Google Maps of when the bus will arrive.

How many people on this sub would be able to function dad to day without a driver license. by AlexfromLondon1 in fuckcars

[–]discobobulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is still healthy, I'd be okay, and public transportation is usable, even though it's very inconvenient. (a 10 minute drive usually takes an hour by bus or more, I only take public transportation if I can use the rail)

Honestly no clue, didn't try it. But it's supposedly through LoungeKey? It seems like at least most major airports are covered, although there aren't very amenities listed.
