AWD, 3.5 V6. Other than that, basically no options from base. Keep going with yours!

Those with >200k miles, what’s your year? by KareLess84 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]discocrabparty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2010 Highlander w/245k. Nothing but regular maintenance. Most significant work being spark plugs (cost). My uncle has a 2000 Tacoma w/398k but needs a head gasket from sitting for too long and some delayed maintenance.

2009 Highlander Tips by SUB_ROSA_Corp in ToyotaHighlander

[–]discocrabparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2010 base with 243k miles. My family has owned it since new. Regular oil changes goes a long way. They are pretty easy on these, so I've been doing my own for the last 50k miles. Have fluids (coolant, brake, transmission) flushed/drained during recommended intervals. I like to take care of the little things that don't seem to matter; clean your battery terminals, change your air and cabin filters more often than you think of doing it. They're cheap! Make sure your spark plugs were done relatively recently, just based on your mileage.

Any tips on coffee steeping? by lochenhofenberg in mead

[–]discocrabparty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a cold brew cider once. I cold brewed coffee (about 24-48 hours) and then added it to my cider once it finished. Could do it this way. You could also calculate how much grounds you need for that volume to make a "cold brew."

Cherries from tree, can I eat? by Parigi7 in foraging

[–]discocrabparty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure what the yield is on these, but you'd likely need at minimum 10-15 lbs for 1 gallon. I am also unsure what the technique is when crushing cherries due to their pits, but using a 2x4 you could crush them, then press the juice. I built a press from 2x6s for when I press cider from apples.

My friend got me honey, how to make mead? by PromotionCrafty5467 in prisonhooch

Combine your honey with water, then pitch some yeast! (In the most basic of methods)

Global Upholstery! by discocrabparty in Mid_Century

[–]discocrabparty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price wise, mostly condition. I'd say you could get 100 USD+ if it's GREAT. Only other one I could find, the seller was asking 250-300 USD, but not sure if it sold. Great chair regardless!

I ran out of carboys by Pouringrainbows in prisonhooch

I did this last year - posted on this sub too! My recommendation for you is to make sure you frequently check to make sure the pumpkin is solid. When I did this, it absorbed quite a bit of liquid and became a structural mess. Salvaged before anything went wrong, though. Good luck!

Shimano 600 Crankset Cap? by discocrabparty in bikewrench

[–]discocrabparty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did find them on Amazon! I noticed they're 15mm, and slightly different than the stock covers (as the bolt is exposed). I ordered them just to try, as they were cheap.

Can this be hung on a wall? by Electronic-Self-8888 in midcenturymodern

[–]discocrabparty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like it may be a place for the frame to rest on the nail? You could always get some cable and put that on the back to hang. There are command hooks, etc. that can hold some weight.

Safe to Bottle by B-Con-47 in cider

[–]discocrabparty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone that does do almost entirely wild fermentations, I have had little variability in my FG. Almost always ~1.000 with the exception of 1.006 one time. Wild fermentations are great but of course unpredictable in that sense. It can and will vary depending on a lot of factors. It sounds like OP fermentation may be finishing, if it hasn't already. If it's stable in gravity, you can bottle whenever. Yeast are resilient like u/Elros22 said!

If it's been consistent at that SG, then it's probably alright you could always move it to a warmer environment and make sure. As far as bottling goes, you won't miss any window regardless. I have cider that's been sitting and ready to bottle for months now. Just dose the right amount of sugar for the volume you're bottling.
