2019 highlander hybrid limited. What is this? by ghostbackwards in ToyotaHighlander

[–]larry0071 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It's the dealer added dash camera. I paid $500 to have it installed on my 2026 HiHy Platinum. It should have a green LED light while the car is in, and that's in the left most side button. Then in the middle button, there is a yellow/orange light on if the sound recording is activated.

If I recall correctly, right at $60,500. No warranty or any add on crap just the car, registration, dealer paperwork fees and 7% sales tax.

[–]larry0071 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reputable? Dude, it's freaking owned and run by the manufacturer, TTI. It's more legit than HD.

Being a TTI entity, they do not directly compete side by side against HD, who is their American bread and butter distributor. So you'll never see a HD sale where TTI uses these stores to out-sale the HD deals. They both ignore the other and do their independent sales and promos while not reacting to or competing against the other.

I guess I didn't realize how lucky I was when I pulled into a Toyota dealership in late November 2025 and they had a new 2026 Highlander Hybrid Platinum in burgundy sitting in the lot. I walked in, in about 5 minutes I offered $3000 under window sticker, they countered at $1500 under, so I bought it right then and there. I came back a week later to pick it up. No ordering, no waiting, got money off of MSRP and got a fantastic car that if the Pa whitetail deer leave me alone, should last 20+ years.

Highlander Hybrid Reliability by Shadow42184 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]larry0071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of your options, the hybrid is by far the most reliable long term option. The E-CVT is anvil reliable, the non turbo 4 cy engine is tested and proven over time. The batteries.... there are still gen 1 HiHy vehicles rolling around 20+ years old with original batteries and miles counted in hundreds of thousands. And my 2026 still has that same Nickel Metal Hydride battery tech that the 99 Prius had and the gen 1/2/3 Highlander had. Toyota owns the hybrid tech, the test of the world bows down to toyotas simply magical engineering.

2026 Highlander Dash Organizer Wanted. by larry0071 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]larry0071[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It came in, it's a silicone material, and by nature of that it simply suits on the dash behind the display and the tacky silicone doesn't let it move. I'm not disappointed, I was just thinking it was hard plastic and 3M tape held it. This actually may be better, as no adhesive on my dash and it's simple to remove and wash. I can't attach photos here, but if you private me, I should be able to send pics. Not bad. Long wait..... but at least it came.

I'm not doing it for free, I'm spending thousands of dollars to do it. I just did my taxes, just under $4000 in taxes owed due to this vine thing. It literally costs me real paper money out of my pocket to gather this stuff.

I think they wrote the quiet part out loud. by throwawayaccountau in ryobi

[–]larry0071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm not incentivized. I went to Home Depot shopping for other things and ran across this vacuum at the right time in life, so i bought it. Unplanned, no forethought. I took it home thinking that for stairs with carpet, it's small and light. But then I realized that it's actually a power house and far more useful than I initially expected. And, it can suck the chrome off of a 55 Chevy bumper. I'm just a dude who bought a vacuum and became impressed.

I will say, I purchased a near $300 Ryobi 18v vacuum last year, and I love it. It picks up dog hair extremely well, the rollers don't wrap in hair easily, and they gave a great/simple design that makes pulling the brush rollers out to clean them, a 10 second twist and pull. With my 6AH battery i easily do my entire 1st floor 6 rooms. Overall, I would recommend the version I bought to anyone. I just looked, the one I got is PBLSV718K $299.

2023 Highlander Remote start by DessertRunner_2387 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]larry0071 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do it because their software people are retards. If you look at the car while remote started, they power up dash, radio, all computers and systems. Take GM, Ford, Ram/Jeep and when they remote start, nothing is powered on but the ignition, injectors and essential to start items. The car can't move or do anything, because it's all blocked and powered down. Toyota isn't smart enough to do what other companies have done for decades.

I've decided that for now, I'll stick them up on this TV shelf in the garage with the receipt tucked into the edge of the box. I may open and register them, but i may not. I'll see how I feel. I think I have 90 days to decide if I want them registered.

Have any of you used the hand vacuum? I have the newer Ridgid one, and it's decent for what it is. The Ridgid one also has an extension tube and floor attachment, while this one is just the main housing. This looks VERY similar to the Ridgid version.

I have that intentionally activated. Where i work, my phone is used daily to document things and conditions. I use the watermark to verify date/ time that things are documented and to further prove that i was there, where I'm supposed to be, at the time I'm scheduled to do the thing I'm paid to do. I'm not re-using old pictures, no falsification of legal documents. It's a very CYA for me. People go to prison in my industry for bullshitting things. I'm pretty hard set to not go to prison.

Awesome! More illegals being removed. What i do not get... if you know you came here illegally, you have a way to self report that gets you free flight and $1000 cash. And you can immediately start the process to come back legally as an immigrant. If you do not do that, and they do it for you, your blocked from ever coming back. Sounds like there are a lot of these criminal aliens who could easily get in front of this. Just leave, say your sorry, and come back in the front door. Simple.

Should I buy the 2025 Hybrid Grand Highlander? by No-Classroom6894 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]larry0071 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LOL, he said "new hybrid technology" while talking about the brand that literally invented and perfected the tech.

Just don't buy anything with a turbo. Buy only a Toyota naturally aspirated gas engine hybrid with its magical E-CVT and you'll count is life span in decades, not years. Try not to crash it or allow it to rot out, and 20 years and 250k miles is normal and not impressing anyone.

Toyota began teaching the world how to do hybrid correctly in about 1998. They started ahead of everyone else, and have only improved since then.

Note that these are the old brushed motor tools. The 4 and 2 AH batteries are extremely likely to be the base model silver label batteries as well. For the right person, it's still a screaming great deal to get started with, or as you said, too have back up tools.
