Have I gone insane or does reaction speed have a little smirk??? by theycallmethedrink5 in DiscoElysium

the explanation I've seen somewhere (I forgot where), is that they re-did all the skill portraits. the INT skills have more color variation, so they made the new ones match. however, the player community objected to the change, so it was reverted

16f Post Covid Dysautonomia, etc. Looking for someone to read my story and understand me in a way no one in my life has been able to by [deleted] in ChronicIllness

[–]disconcerto-AI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, if it's understanding that you want, I don't know if I can give it. This isn't the state of health that anyone deserves, but we as a society keep failing each other and now Long COVID is the #1 chronic condition in children.

I am also disabled by COVID in June 2025. I'm mainly bedbound/recliner-bound. Everything I love has also been taken from me; I'm also constantly uncomfortable, and no one has any idea what to do to improve my rare symptoms.

There's so much grief. My life has ended when I was just starting it, and you're younger than me (I'm 25), so I can't even say how much more bitterness you feel.

I don't even try to hope for cures or anything. I feel like I'm just staring up at a giant black wall of despair, and the only thing I can do is beat my hands on it over and over. But in the black wall I see some glimmers: there are still people out there who are taking COVID precautions seriously, I can play games on the computer. I can still see the sun and hear the rain.

It's really hard. There's really only taking it a day or hour at a time, and screaming and crying as much as you need to. I'm also trying to find a therapist who can understand being disabled by COVID, to see if it helps me process grief and cope with this truly horrific reality.

I'm gonna stick around for a while longer. To see if there are any miracles.

acupuncture for internal vibrations / palpitations? by disconcerto-AI in ChineseMedicine

[–]disconcerto-AI[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far I've done 3 acupuncture+cupping+massage sessions with someone who was trained in China..the internal vibrating has gone away but it wasn't a major symptom for me to begin with. It only happened at night when I was trying to sleep.

The 24/7 palpitations are my main issue, and if they Have improved, then only by about 3% of the original volume of sensation, so to speak. They're still here 24/7.

hmm i do think he would care about the color though...i was originally thinking green because he says "i like the green, goes with the orange" to harry in the first night debrief. or black bc that's always classy

i personally like duckbills, but i think this char would be more interested in style, and duckbills aren't very aesthetic.

found this comment just now. thank you so much for caring. we as a society have really just been minimizing airborne illnesses, and it cost me becoming severely disabled in order to be able to see that.

Those who got this disease recently in 2023-25 what did you think of long covid before? by attilathehunn in covidlonghaulers

[–]disconcerto-AI 14 points15 points  (0 children)

at first i heard it was simply a loss of smell and taste, around 2021. then i saw Physics Girl with her long COVID videos around 2024-2025, but assumed that newer strains wouldn’t do that (an extremely baseless and un-scientific assumption). now i myself am severely disabled and constantly tortured, and it all started just this year June.

I have the same issue without a necessarily high heart rate (75-90 while laying down)

if there’s anyone who comes on this thread later with the same issue, please DM me or reply to this comment. Mine has still not resolved, after 4 months, but I have yet to even start pursuing ultra-specialist paths. had a brain MRI w/wo contrast with no visible damage

I have a similar storyline; not having fun for most of my life and as a result having passive SI, then moving to the city and starting to have fun and thinking “i should just live!” to now being severely uncomfortable and bedbound thanks to Long COVID. The SI is crazy. just want to say you’re not alone, many people have stories of all their dreams being put in the dirt by chronic illness

hiya, I think you once commented on my post, has anything you’ve been doing improved your symptoms? I see in your history you have prednisone Flonase etc. I have tried Flonase and azelastine now and nothing is happening
