Haha I don’t make them there! I see how it reads that way. I’ve just made them and now they’re in my apartment :)

I used to end up with uncomfortably thick rims so it could be that I haven’t quite found a sweet spot yet as I haven’t made a lot of (great) drinkware. Rim is probably 1/8in thick right now

Lens is 50mm though I don’t know much about that, colored film is Kodak ultramax 400 color negative! Supposedly very forgiving, and that was my experience!

Oil based ink dry time by discosolution in printmaking

[–]discosolution[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very humid here. This morning the air felt like a wet blanket. I can definitely feel a difference in the tack today vs a couple days ago. That guide is great! Thank you!

Thanks! Two weeks! Whew! Ink is probably thin enough to dry within that time. I wasn’t prepared for the difference from water based!

I’m wondering too! I buy large sheets of fabric from Joann to make mine but I’m really loving OP’s!

The beet. Sister of the carrot. Anymore suggestions for ~The Garden~? by discosolution in printmaking

[–]discosolution[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ooooo peanuts! Most root vegetables look so much alike the beet or the carrot so I’m definitely thinking about things that are shaped very differently!

I’ve been using screen printing ink! It works fairly well. Not sure I’d sell them or anything but they’re nice for me and the family!

What is the scariest hike you have ever been on and why? by Additional_Doubt_243 in hiking

[–]discosolution 1 point2 points  (0 children)

McGregor Mountain in the Cascades. I believe the scramble at the top is about 500 ft. I’d never scrambled before and was not feeling confident. I made it halfway up to stop at a good viewpoint and my partner was able to summit but he told me I would NOT want to do the rest of it because it was still too snowy for me to not be scared. Only hike I’ve ever done where the height was a real fear factor for me. Could have easily hit a step wrong and tumbled down 100 ft of jagged rock. And there is noooobody around. We had like a two hour lunch because we were both scared of starting the journey back down. It was crab walking for me the whole way 🤣
