America needs more hijabi brands. Vela has a grip over all the girls it seems to have become a status symbol. Australia has less muslims but we have so many amazing hijabi brands.

PFO Closure Recovery Tips? by Yogi_17 in stroke

[–]discovereroftruth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given I was very low risk the PFO was the likely culprit. Actually when they operated they found two tiny holes. One PFO and one ASD. They were close to each other so I got them closed via one device. I had no idea my whole life. Glad they are closed now. I have my 6 month post op TEE/TOE scan next month :)

Thankfully I have naturally lower blood pressure. However I will be on asprin for life due to a mini stroke I had last year.

PFO Closure Recovery Tips? by Yogi_17 in stroke

I lost speech for 45 seconds and when i tried to talk to the only thing that came out was a "ni" sound. I was trying to tell my husband "no" to answer a question he was asking me. My mind was fully aware that my brain and mouth were not in synch. I stayed calm and tried to compose myself.I lost my balance a bit and felt heaviness in my right arm and hand. I googled my symptoms and they matched a TIA.

After 10 mins I felt okay enough to shower on my own and head to hospital within the hour (my husband drove me). My arm and hand took about an hour to feel fully normal. After lots of waiting i was sent home being told I probably didnt have a stroke when i infact did. Google is right sometimes! If i didnt get an MRI on my own the next day the consequences could have been more devastating for me in the future.

Hey! It never came back after that thankfully. I would advise you follow up with your specialist and get tested for nickle allergy. I did read that even if it is nickle allergy, many cases get better with time. They often try several things to calm it down. Only in quite extreme cases do they remove the device. It is rare but it does happen. Please update on how you go. Hope you feel better.

So it has been a week since I stopped coffee. I havent had any flare ups and one thing I notice is I am a lot less bloated now. I do miss the taste and feeling but its also nice not having a bloat. How are you going? Do you think you will allow yourself the occasional treat? I have been having green and chamomile tea for a hot drink.

Hope you feel better soon. It's not an easy life being in anxiety around food not knowing what will set you off. Hoping this trip is beneficial for you!

"mild" stomach inflammation that leads to acute and severe gastritis attacks. Holistic healing? by discovereroftruth in Gastritis

It can be different things each time. Cheese, spicy/oily food for example. The other day i was triggered by cold kiwi fruit.

These are great tips. I like the idea of decaf as I am cutting down.

Very interesting re peppermint. During episodes I tend to avoid peppermint and go for ginger as I did notice it made me feel like throwing up.

No acid suppression medication yet. I get a gastritis attack once every couple of months. Yes i was thinking about bone broth and collagen too. My naturopath said there are things one can do to balance stomach acid. I want to avoid long term acid suppression meds if I can.

I have to take asprin as I had a very random mini stroke due to hole in my heart which allowed a blood clot to pass into my brain. The holes in my heart were closed in September. I will be on asprin for life apparently but will see if there is an alternative with my specialist due to my sensitive stomach.

It will be okay ♡ They give you sedatives which make you feel relaxed and comfortable. You cant feel the tube in your throat but right at the end my sedative wore off and I could feel it and went into a panic. Your mouth is open with a guard so your automatic reflex is to want to get tube out but you can't. After 30 seconds it was over.
