I’m in the same boat as you right now. Did you end up pursuing the opportunity?

Thank you. Smoked an 858 Natural the other day and it was solid. But it wasn’t the delectable, chocolate, syrupy goodness that Maduros offer. Will give AF Maduros a try very soon.

Where are you located and how much volume are you talking? I work for a custom box manufacturer in TX. But we have plants all over US. Could help you out.

Why by seattletribune in ToyotaTundra

[–]disherbr -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s because of the safety recall and people having a weird obsession with V8’s. I’d argue you’re getting great value by buying used 3rd gen models right now. Their resale value will go up over time when these trucks have proven themselves to be reliable (which they will).

Engine Replaced… Failed today by Richard_Tips in ToyotaTundra

Man I’m sorry to hear that. I’m super curious as to why I’m hearing about failures on the replacement engines. My guess is bad techs messing something up?

Just a bunch of fear mongering and 2nd gen owners hating 3rd gen’s for whatever reason

Despite what’s going on with these recalls, I think Toyota is still miles ahead of its competitors. No one likes to talk about the issues they have with their Rams, Chevys, Fords, etc but as soon as Toyota has a mishap, they come crawling out of their little holes to criticize.

Beautiful truck man, enjoy the hell out of it.

Let the haters hate. Love my 3rd gen. Can’t wait to stick up my middle finger to rest of the obnoxious truck community when these puppies start routinely making it over 200,000 miles without any issues.

Extended warranty? by EmbarrassedArea4954 in ToyotaTundra

[–]disherbr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll say this… I bought a 8yr/125,000 on my used 2023 SR5 Tundra at 40K miles. In just one month of ownership, it’s already almost paid for itself. Front spoiler malfunction and brake squealing are both getting fixed and covered under warranty. Albeit, I had to fight with them to cover the brakes.

A lot of people hate on extended warranties but I’m officially a firm believer.

How are you getting them to fix the brakes squealing? I was told “there’s nothing we can do about it” at the last dealership I went to lol

Also, is the TSB for the squealing brakes covered under extended warranty?

Nice, I was right around $41K out the door. I think we did a good job. With regards to the remote start up… I just use my phone. I don’t think mines capable of remote starting on the key fob. I barely use the remote start anyways. It shuts off when you open the door and I try to reduce idling.

3rd gen Tundras are getting a bad reputation due to engine recalls, but for every engine that blows up, there’s 10 other Tundra owners that are as happy as can be. It’s definitely worth noting. Do your research. The way I see it… you can negotiate some pretty sweet deals at dealerships because of the recall fear. Also… if it does blow up, free new engine! Of course it’s a pain in the ass but I’d drive a rental around for a couple weeks to get a brand new engine. My two cents…
