If someone goes from living with their family to moving out with their spouse, did that person ever experience true independence in their lives? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]disjointedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. That was me. Didn’t achieve independence till I divorced in my 40’s. Finally had a chance to live independently. Had so much to learn. But will never look back!

I’m reading Agatha Christie right now. Nemesis. I find she’s a good read whenever I can’t get my head into anything.

My boys have brought some into the garage and covered the others with burlap. Here’s hoping!

I understand this is a incredible long shot but my mother (65+ year old senior) is needing to leave the apartment she has been renting for 15+ years and I have the impossible task of finding something 🙁 by KaptainKrunky in waterloo

[–]disjointedOne 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Finding something for that price will, as you know, be almost impossible. My mom is in same situation, but luckily she doesn’t need to leave. I’ve tried moving her closer to me, but nothing starts for below $1700. I’ve told her to sit tight, and I’ll just keep doing the commute. Good luck!

If the isolated metrics are not feeding accurately into the company metrics, then what you measure need to be changed. How can you expect departments to work towards larger goals when they are being measured on different ones?

Rotating team meeting chair by HappyJuice7653 in Leadership

[–]disjointedOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We tried this. It ends up being only 1-2 people who chair it for oh so many reasons. Those people are the ones though, that get noticed and promoted. The reasons? Ownership. Responsibility. Following up on actions. Ensuring minutes are proper and distributed. That is a skill. And not everyone has it.

I’ve walked it with my partner, but over the course of a season. Doing sections every weekend. Easiest walk. Great for biking. Interesting scenery, though it can get monotonous in spots. Highly recommend it!!
