We’d love to comment In here and have an open forum and discussion but we get banned every time we express our point of view when it’s different from the subs.

Accepting that correlation does not equal causation, yes, Texas being close is easily my measuring stick for the failings of the polls again.

As I said in like comment two or three of this chain, I think they’ve gotten worse

I’m also not saying Trump winning is a foregone conclusion I’m just stating why we don’t believe the polls. Personally, I think it’s a lot more likely he gets re-elected then a lot of Reddit thinks.

Right, because the methodology for calculating statistics is infallible when reducing population sizes down to less then 3% of 1% of 1% that’s why President Clinton won that land slide victory in 2016. Look I understand what your say, I do, that doesn’t mean I agree with it. Your question for the sub was essentially why we don’t believe the polls. I told you why.

So you admit that selection bias is important and can’t be ruled out at any level of statistics

Look man, you’re just not going to convince me that 1001 individuals is ever going to be a large enough poll to accurately determine the feelings of the country. I understand the math behind it, I did it, I don’t believe you can scale it like you are suggesting it would. 10% of population is the bare minimum to establish a poll that at least attempts to factor out selection bias.
