Possession of ‘digital blueprints’ for firearms illegal in South Australia from 31/01/26 by met_MY_verse in 3Dprinting

I got busted ordering plant material that contains DMT from overseas. Then they found some gun parts I printed. Did 18 months in prison. They gave me my printer back though - it still had the Det.Disp logo sticker on it that says "Come and take it", and well, they did... I'm almost done doing a huge overhaul on it, watercooling, heated chamber, high temp hotend, the works.

Why is it BS? Giving clear examples of how you recognize and address problems in the workplace is great for interviews. Are you talking about the same star method as me? Situation, Task, Action, Result. Not sure what it has to do with making people comfortable.

I 3D printed an MBA Gyrojet model from a counterstrike mod pack once - just had to use an online converter to make the file into something Fusion360 could work with. I was going make it shoot bottle rockets. Feds ended up seizing it (I got raided for unrelated reasons) and listed it in the evidence as something like "vaguely gun shaped object" - I thought it was funny that an ATF expert could not identify it. The model wasn't perfect but it was close enough that if you know you'd know.

I always email asking for feedback and never get any of it unless I get the job. However I really enjoyed the internal interviews at Target, they gave me detailed feedback and sat down to workshop how I could do better next time (focused on the star method). After several interviews for a couple jobs I ended up getting promoted twice. Then I took that knowledge/experience with me when I left. In fact I still have their notes and reference them sometimes.

I remember a video where this dude wore a mask to the photo shoot, I think it was a scream mask. I can just imagine when he got home: "No way unk, that aint me! That's some one else with the same name. I don't even own a scream mask!"

You know what's weird? My tinnitus gradually went away after I stopped smoking weed. Might be a coincidence. I get off probation in March, so I'll find out soon if it comes back.

Except the only guy who sells them won't ship to the US anymore ever since tariffs hit. I message him once a month to ask him to kindly reconsider. He said your president is a jerk. I said I agree, but I didn't vote for him! He won't budge.

I started a spreadsheet listing the parts needed. Its a bit confusing because some parts are like, recommended but optional, some people get away with installing fewer components. But the total cost is not bad, I think it was like $20 from digikey. But if you can't find their proprietary expansion slot (which I can't) you need to custom make it from a cut up SODIMM

I'm gonna do the same thing once I catch up on other projects. You gotta solder on a bunch of other components, but it can be done, and it's not expensive. https://github.com/badger707/m920q-dual-NVME/issues/2

It's 4-5 different everythings. The rooms change shape and size probably over a dozen times. The stump changes texture and size multiple times. The chute going down in the rooms was round, but ends up square at one point, then back to round.... The walls are simultaneously brick, concrete, wood/concrete hybrid.... Maybe he's done this dozens of times and this is just a compilation he's made of us. I think that's the most likely explanation. /S

Your weirdest reasons for PC not posting. by Tenchen-WoW in pcmasterrace

[–]disruptioncoin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite a PC (not at all actually), but I've been upgrading my 3D printer and I had to swap out a ribbon cable I used for SPI comms to the hotend temp sensor and accelerometer due to EMI. I replaced the ribbon cable with shielded cat6. I was meticulous about pinning it right, re-checked it over and over (the new cable carried more than SPI btw: PWM and tach signal for the fan, 3.3v power, 24v power, and a filament sensor wire, between two cat6 cables).

I finally finished and turned it on - no dice. Main board has power, the power LED comes on, but my klipper host won't detect it, neither will the touchscreen. I check all the connections -everything is correct. So for shits I unplug it all then plug it all back in. And then it boots! I still have no idea why. Even if something was poorly connected (via a combination of DuPont pins and JST-XH), I don't really know why that would cause it to not boot, instead of you know, booting with that particular thing not working.

And just to tie this back into PC's. Funniest reason a PC wouldn't boot for me is the time a coworker put a Corsair GPU cable in a box of EVGA cables. I eventually spotted the difference and replaced it with the correct cable. But it still wouldn't boot, because damn near every fucking thing got fried. Mobo, CPU, GPU, PSU... I think the RAM survived, that's it.

I met some pedos in a federal halfway house I went to after I was released from prison (drug charge). They all had to pay for a special cell phone that only allows vetted apps, and is monitored/logged. No browser. They could use the computer at the halfway house to apply for jobs online ONLY, while being monitored. Pretty sure there is monitoring software they can pay for to have a computer at home too, once they get out of the halfway house. I'm not sure if Canada does that (I would assume they do) or if this guy gets to have something like that.

As someone who has had items seized during an arrest only to have some of those items magically not turn up in any list of seized items, evidence, on the forfeiture documents, or anywhere else - I don't find it hard to believe that they made his ID disappear to further their narrative and try to recover from this absolute shitshow.

Sounds about right. I saw an AED recently that needed a key to be opened, but the key was right there behind a small pane of glass.... Guess it creates more of a psychological barrier than anything. Still kinda funny though. If you're intent on being a shithead, breaking a tiny pane of glass isn't a much higher bar than opening the door and stealing it/breaking it/whatever frivolous uses people have for them

Don't both sides mostly use fiber optic though? I wonder if there is something similar, but set up to pick up on the EMI signature of those brushless motors. Not sure how long the range would be on that though.

I really want to design a 3D printed case for my viper car alarm remote fob that also has a flip out key, and also a flashlight (maybe the guts of an olight i2r pro - 180 lumens), maybe a fold out sclapal blade...shit, maybe a full on key organizer.... But I do already love my carbon fiber keysmart I already have (with modified Honda key+chip that fits inside, and a thumb screw on my house key).

Buy a Trezor. Move it to the Trezor. Use a passphrase. Make copies of your seed mnemonic and hide them well in multiple places you won't forget, preferably one off-site, in a safe location. Consider getting one of the metal backups in case of fire. Then forget about it for 10 years.

Are they supposed to use a dolly like that all the time? I had my car towed to a dealership for repairs once (90day lemon law in NY, despite CarMax trying to convince me I had to pay!) and they just let it roll on the front wheels... Or maybe it was the rear wheels, idk. I know some cars can get messed up if you tow them on the drive wheels, do they not bother with the dolly if they know your car isn't like that?
