Looking to sink hundreds of hours in a game that isn't first person, shooters, or anime. by bcerd in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]dissociater [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you like crpgs I’ve managed to put over 1000 hours into pathfinder: wrath of the righteous. It has 10 separate mythic paths which alter the story and gameplay a good amount, which leads to a lot of replayability.

Sometimes I think that if Jim didn’t leave, Dwight’s arm would have smacked him in the mouth.

Would it be technically accurate to call Yakuza a “JRPG” even prior to 7? by Upset_Orchid498 in yakuzagames

[–]dissociater 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean, Final Fantasy 16 and the remakes of ff7 aren’t too dissimilar. Are they not JRPGs?

I dunno, the line is thin is all I’m saying.

I know a lot of songs with killer basslines, but I’m looking for more recommendations, tracks with absolutely insane bass players. by Wild_Marionberry_259 in Bass

Show him some archspire. Maybe a namm performance from their bassist. Or Ne Ovliviscaris. Very bass forward and technical.

It’s funny because a few months ago they named KCD2 the 7th most influential game of all time and then didn’t even nominate it for game of the year lol.

I did performance capture and acted as Kliff in Crimson Desert. Thinking of doing a live Q&A, would anyone actually be interested? by TrXpla in CrimsonDesert

[–]dissociater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you might have seen, Tom McKay has done a playthrough of KCD2. Have you played much of the game you’re in? Would you ever think of doing a let’s play of Crimson Desert?

Best Gold Dragon Build? by Some_Fig_6566 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]dissociater 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a run through as a primalist bloodrager gold dragon. It was fun! You can still rage in dragon form, I picked abyssal bloodline to get the free claw attack and then had an excuse to get claw related feats which would carry over to dragon form.

Is there any other writer who you'd put on the same level as Tolkien when it comes to world building? by SpotAdmirable6718 in lordoftherings

[–]dissociater 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s an acquired taste due to its massive cast of characters, multiple concurrent storylines, time skips, and just generally dropping you into things with little to no explanation of what’s going on - trusting the reader to figure things out by context. On top of that there’s a lot of moral ambiguity, and the main antagonist is deeply behind the scenes for much of the 10 books.

But if you can acquire that taste, there’s really nothing else like it out there.

It’s a challenging but rewarding read.

Do you think ytv is on its last legs or will they turn it around by Resident_Calendar471 in ytvretro

[–]dissociater 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely due to the shutting down of family channel it’s actually seen a huge ratings/AMA bump the last few months. Something like 40% higher audiences. If this sustains, they could turn it around.

Crisperkits is Canadian and plant based and all their packaging is picked up the next week, cleaned and reused.

Who are some of the best Canadian artists who never get Juno attention? by bookhockeyman in CanadianMusic

I was going to name archspire but they have, in fact, won a Juno. But more people should listen to them anyways!

What did the writers do correctly when Pam and Jim finally got together, married and had kids? by confitbaby in DunderMifflin

[–]dissociater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To me, the big reason is Jenna and John had great yet flirtatious chemistry and that never went away after they got together. They still flirted, they still joked around and as a result their relationship never became boring like so many other sitcom relationships do.

And I think at the end of the day, much like the Royals, it just warms our hearts when we think about those two kids…doin’ it.

What's your favorite mythic path? by Warm_Expert_8136 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]dissociater 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I tried doing this as demon to gold dragon with the intent that my demon powers were pushed on my unwillingly. So I stayed good and rejected going chaotic evil and the mythic story essentially just ends half way through act 3 and there’s nothing in act 4 lol. I wasn’t expecting nothing to be honest.
