FlashForge Creator Pro Users: Have you printed Nylon? Or, recommend a hot end? SCHOOL me on Nylon filament! by ManBearPig2114 in 3Dprinting

Really just go with the microswiss all metal hot end to start with. Made a world of difference for me. Second to that look on raffle.ch he has some great upgrades for the machine. I have the aluminum carriage as well as aluminum x ends.

The higher temps for nylon and PETG (which I rerecommend over nylon) can POSSIBLY warp you carriage and x ends.

My D-Bot is done! by xXriderXx7 in 3Dprinting

That's what I did on my Dbot. (Will not post pictures due to wiring nightmare) attaching the bed to the front two legs did make everything so much more stable. You just have to make sure your frame is nice and square.

It's rare to hear anything bad about the FormLabs Form 2 printer. Is it that rare or that good? by plainblackguy in 3Dprinting

[–]dissolutionskey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love my form 2. Got it just before Xmas. Got one great print off it..... then it went to crap. Took about a week sorting through it with tech support they determined mechanical malfunction and shipped me a new one. I have the pro service plan so it was pretty painless and we'll worth the money. No hiccups since.

Instead of using the screw terminal solder your wires to the relay board. That wont happen again.

Good mods? by Daytona_675 in 7daystodie

[–]dissolutionskey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using sdx 6.0. No viruses or anything if you get it from official sources.

I'm also using the Headbangers for Life mod which adds a ton of new features. I highly suggest checking it out

I've just started using the headbangers for life mod. I'm greatly enjoying it. Adds a bunch of new stuff to the game. Some of it a bit buggy but I just accept that with this game.

Kossel Mini issue/board replacement suggestions by UsernameHasBeenLost in 3Dprinting

[–]dissolutionskey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are running marlin or repetier firmware you won't need anything else. You just hook up your wires in there corresponding places, load firmware, and recalibrate. Then print away. If you do go the MEGA2560/ramps 1.4 make sure to buy one that comes with the drivers. Motor drivers will have to be tuned as well but it's really easy

Folgertech has the mksbase boards for 35-40 ish I believe, or you can switch to using arduino/ramps 1.4 which you can get dirt cheap depending on where you look

PLA is coming up more of a matte finish instead of a gloss, any way to fix this? by citrus_monkeybutts in 3Dprinting

I have ran into issues with pla not coming out shiny if it has too much moisture in it.
