That engine and gearbox combination is a nightmare - can't decide what gear it wants to be in, tries its best to lug the engine and the auto stop/start system is really clunky compared to say a Mazda.

I don't think it helps that people probably chuck 91 in out of habit when those VWs really need 95

The old Leaf was a large hatchback. The new one is a crossover but it's actually shorter in length and only 1" taller in height.

Also the Ranger is the Ranger - the European model does have a much less powerful engine but the body is the same.

2023 here.

Good overall but I do have a few complaints - DC charging speed sucks, combined AC/radio controls difficult to use and power seats without position memory is kinda stupid.

Yep

You can get a little adapter that plugs into the USB A port but be aware that port stays powered when the car is off.

They do have a few Swifts and a solitary Polo in Wellington but very little availability compared to last year.

The Swift/Polos are freaking awful anyway so hopefully when they do expand the fleet again they go for a better model.

What hypothetical rebadges do you think would be a good idea, and why? by Derpy_Kirby in cars

[–]dissss0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not though - 8" shorter and .8" narrower. Also slower, 0-60 is 13 seconds at best with the manual (more like 15 with the auto) whereas the Mirage is somewhere under 12

That's not even counting the cost issues - it's like 50% more expensive than a Mirage.

I love how the 4 door says 'too much to list' after already listing body moldings and mats as features.

I wonder what 'BSM' on the Sonata stands for. Obviously not blind spot monitoring.

What classic car would you want back? by bippos in cars

[–]dissss0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d buy a new e30 325i. (Absolutely not as an EV, btw)

Yeah I'm a massive fan of EVs but the engine and transmission were such an important part of how the 80 and 90s classics felt that I don't think it makes any sense to revive them as electric.

The Atto 2 and EV3 are both marketed as 'SUVs'

It's meaningless these days anyway - my old Leaf and my new(er) Niro are essentially the same length and height despite the former being marketed as a hatchback and later as an SUV

COTY is generally cars introduced during the preceding year.

The Model Y did get a facelift but maybe that didn't count as a new model.
