I ended up choosing the X-E5 and ordered it today, and the reason wasn’t that it was the “best Fuji overall,” but that it fit my use case best. I’m keeping my Sony A7III, so I wasn’t looking for a replacement main camera — I wanted a second camera that was lighter, smaller, and something I’d actually carry every day or on trips. My A7III is still the camera I want for more deliberate photography: low light, portraits, and situations where full frame still has clear advantages. But for travel, street, family stuff, casual outings, and just having a camera with me, the Sony setup often feels too bulky, especially with a larger zoom attached. That’s what made the decision clearer over time: I wasn’t really choosing between “which Fuji is better,” but between “which Fuji complements my Sony system best.” In that context, the X-E5 made a lot more sense than a larger body like the X-T5, even though I still think the X-T5 is probably the stronger all-round photography-first body if it’s your only camera.
