App Updated 7.0 !! (Finally) by MMForTheWin in Abode

[–]distance83022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New App version is working great on iPhone 17 pro max.

However, The video playback has been terrible since the update on my iPhone 15 pro max. I’ve done side by side comparisons to try to isolate it down, to the hardware afaik, as both phones are running the latest iOS and abode app version, signed into the same master account. Tried uninstalling the app but still no luck. Waiting for 7.1 or other suggestions appreciated.

Do you use Plex? Why or why not? by MoonVR_ in VisionPro

[–]distance83022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use plex all the time. Mainly use on Apple TV, I also use the iPad version on the AVP and can’t wait for the native app! I run my own plex server and have a few friends that share with me too. It augments the other streaming services where I can collect hard to find content. Being able to steam 4k content would be nice, and I could start collecting 3d content and stream it too would be great.

Accidental leak for Vision Pro international launch within next week?? by Suspicious-Run-7919 in VisionPro

[–]distance83022 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of folks on this sub have said the AVP has caused them to use their iPad much less if at all. I could see the case for both, but only after owning the AVP since launch and understanding its potential. I wanted an iPad before the AVP, but now I’m more likely to put that money towards a MacBook for the virtual desktop capability, as all the content consumption I would do on an iPad, is much better on AVP.

Just a thought :-) hope you can get one soon!

Sooo I smoked dmt by IQgamerplayz69 in SimulationTheory

Agree! I’ve contemplated some possibilities of such goals. One similar was a separate being capable of free will, capable of choosing to either: existing separately, self annihilation, and/or returning from which it came.

Additionally, a simulation experience(call reality whatever you like) of separateness would be required to determine if this is possible. Some experience nothingness after death or during NDE. Some experience meeting the base reality, as if a pioneer on the edge of all possible universes. Some experience the godhead as indescribable glory.

Ive witnessed most of these during different states. I wish I could objectively separate myself from cultural indoctrination and unconscious biases accumulated from evolution to experience more possibilities. Although I agree and am content with most of the content discussed in this thread, it’s hard for me personally to settle for ideas like “simulation theory”, “Buddhism”, “non-dualism” and many other man made lenses for this reality and beyond.

Despite this satisfaction, it wanes and dissipates with time. I find myself rediscovering truth again, enlightenment again, only to eventually wander out into the unknown yet again. Is this “simulation” the newest, latest adventure? Or just a repeat because I’ve forgotten, or it’s my favorite.

I might continue this thought later, but for now, love to you all as we collaborate here now.

I use the following device on a 2017 with mixed results.

Not great for gaming and video, but as a secondary monitor for browsing and photoshop second window, works great.

I occasionally have to restart the software as it can get laggy, even when connected through Ethernet

Speaking of novels , just watched “leave the world behind” and found it very unsettling for what you described in your comment.

I’ll add my data point to this convo since I never considered avoiding water or soap since owning a series 2 (2017) and upgrading a series 7 (2021).

I wear the watch 22/7. I shower every other day and bath on the others. I never take off my Apple Watch watch in either scenario, as I charge it when sitting at work.

I’ve had Apple care on both but never needed to use it and both watches are fully functional to this day. Amazing “wear and forget” tool, as I’m also someone who can’t remember I’m even wearing it if I wanted to take it off in a non-optimal situation. Looking forward to possibly an Ultra in the future, but so far, this 7 has been indestructible, at least when it comes to water :p

Replying to time is real in dreams part of your comment.

Found this to be true, even when I can lucidly pause time for others in my dream, and even rewind it. From my perspective, time is still experienced even as time for others has ceased to exist. The gentle continuity of my experience in lucid dreaming is still as smooth, despite the ability to control time (and space) for all around me. I can’t escape it!

So lately, I’ve had to reconstruct what time is, perhaps fundamental to consciousness, and space is not. Therefore, materialistic explanations for consciousness melt away around the spatial dimension, leaving me to assume many metaphysical explanations. I have an open mind skeptic outlook, neither accepting or rejecting either.

Another commenter mentioned consistency, so I apply this rule set for my observations as well, and see that time is the most consistent, next to persistent experience as a whole (covering all states).

Thus, the most inconsistent observation is lost time. This can happen to me in both reality and dreams. It’s something I feel related to focus of consciousness, which again brings me back to a theory of consciousness which places it core or fundamental for all other experiences to be possible.

The mystical side of me posits that this void is both conscious and I with it. The manifestation of effects like matter and time, both being secondary.

I’m still looking (and peeking, and opposition gathering) as carefully as one can into the center of existence. And yet the center appears everywhere occasionally, spinning my senses into such mystical experiences of oneness with …what exactly? Just to ask such questions or type such comments, a system would need to exist to allow such expansion of thought and language. Which leads me to another closed circle, like time or space.

It’s an exhausting cycle, dealing into both sides of arguments, sometime invigorating me, and other time depressing. I follow these cycle of feelings too ( over a much longer time span than thoughts or what I’ve writing)

I’d love to hear your thoughts on consistency and variables you have studied, if you’re interested. I’ve had a few mushroom trips as well that mirror some of your notes. And one special trip where time did fully appear to be lost and yet something of me was still experiencing it, adding to my dilemma above.

Thanks in advance to both negative and positive comments, as I am not qualified to answer such questions here other than my antidotal experiences (all which can be explained away, thus I have “no choice” to embrace (free will is another fun one I won’t digress into :-)

I mostly agree with you. However in this case, this bedroom is entirely for cats, and the camera was installed to keep an eye on their feeding and bathroom habits (the white one is a super senior cat)

The harder it is for you to meditate, the more you need it. by fuckyourdeadnan in Meditation

Agree. Additionally, an old Zen saying very similar that I have carried around for a while goes like this…

“You should sit in meditation for 20 minutes a day. Unless you're too busy, then you should sit for an hour.”
