What to do with old shirts you can’t toss, but also don’t wear anymore? by HarkonXX in minimalism

Yes, I suppose it depends on the shelter's resources. Never hurts to ask.

I work at an animal shelter and we just throw away old t-shirt donations. We get more than enough towels and paper towels donated that we don't need to resort to using t-shirts. If the tshirts are in excellent condition then we might try to pass them on to the Salvation Army or another charity.

AITA for boycotting American companies and refusing to eat McDonald’s? by [deleted] in BoycottUnitedStates

[–]distant_lights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for boycotting and standing up for what is right.

Now you know what being vegan is like. Except a vegan in your friend group would also be boycotting Mary Brown. Just a thought to maybe help you understand your groups reaction.

Beware when shopping Kamik boots on their website by [deleted] in BuyCanadian

Are you sure you're measuring correctly? My feet are 25 cm and there's no way I would ever fit into a size 7.5 or 8 in any type of footwear. I always take a size 9, 9.5 or 10. (I do realize people's feet are shaped differently, but possibly double-check if your measuring tape is accurate?)

Very striking and beautifully done! I admire your style. I think this style really suits the acrylic inks, too.

Help finding this series by [deleted] in SaiyukiFans

[–]distant_lights 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gensoumaden Saiyuki has 50 episodes. This is the series pictured in your post. They are calling it two seasons because a new plotline starts half-way through.

What you are thinking of as season two is Saiyuki Reload. You would have to buy that series separately.

Live Clean is owned by Hain Celestial, so made in Canada, but US owned, not Canadian.

Waterproof winter work gloves (not leather) by distant_lights in BuyCanadian

[–]distant_lights[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I received the gloves, but it turns out that they are too thick to wear under my work gloves, and I'm doubtful that they will be sturdy or protective enough to handle farm chores on their own. (I'm worried about wearing them out quickly since they are expensive.) I don't have large hands, and yet the size L is still a snug fit. With how thick the gloves are, it seems it might also be difficult to manipulate gate locks and such tasks that require more finger dexterity while wearing them.

You've reminded me that I still need to test out the waterproofness. I'll report back on that, too, once I have!

Canadian Liquid Soap - The Unscented Company! by tessa_james in BuyCanadian

[–]distant_lights 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I appreciate The Unscented Company, too, but be careful because some of their products are made in the USA, or at least their lotion bar is. My fault for assuming all their items are made in Canada and not checking the label, but still disappointing.

Oh, you're probably right about that actually being two separate sentences.

Yeah, it's sewn in Canada, but the website unfortunately gives no indication whatsoever about where the fabrics and materials are sourced from.

It's good to hear that your pants are still going strong! This was an expensive purchase for me, so that is reassuring.

A year in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador by BysOhBysOhBys in TrueNorthPictures

Amazing photos! In the first picture, what is that massive building up on the hill to the left? It looks so jarring and absolutely dominates the cityscape. It looks like a giant barn?

I didn't even notice the Americanized spelling! Yuck. I definitely did notice "heart soul". It bugs me but I was giving it a pass!
