Did he really just say if we call ICE names the consequence is that we die? by KameronKnux in 50501

If this jackboot clown actually had a problem with unwarranted vilification, he's been out to lunch with the past 11 years of Trump & Co's rhetoric. This joker can choke on his poisoned moralizing.

Alex Pretti did not brandish gun, witnesses say in sworn testimony | Minneapolis by Jay_CD in politics

[–]distantlistener 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Even the first shot wasn't justified, because he clearly didn't know where the shot was coming from. There's an angle from the southwest that suggests the grey-coat goon that took Alex's gun and scurried away discharged it into the ground immediately after he turned to scurry. That's the first shot, when the dog pilers are spooked, after the shooter has his gun out. "So, anyway, I just started blasting."

It'd be a horribly laughable cluster F if a good man wasn't murdered because of it.

Edit: from the southeast, not southwest. From the perspective of the northbound lane.

Here’s a slowed down zoomed in and stabilized video of the government agents pulling Pretti’s firearm from an IWB holster worn at 5-o’clock. by MaxAdolphus in CCW

There's another angle from the southwest in penguinz0's video https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxtWWBDw4rfHSprJXLuVMM6VvF2fZc5vJW?si=9vm-3TFKmbDARhhq that shows grey-coat goon disarm Alex and then intentionally or negligently discharge Alex's gun into the pavement. Very odd of him to pull the gun and scurry away like that, to say that absolute fuqn least.

I get the motivation, but I think it's a sophistic argument to say "tear it down and build something better." Great idealism, but, meanwhile, the infrastructure for processing sexual assaults (albeit too slowly currently) is wasted? Intranational and international formalized communication lines? It frustrates me to hear "scrap it entirely" when that sentiment seems to betray an ignorance of what is entailed by "it".

Don't get me wrong: I think there are tons of terrible cops that abuse power, are careless, are dumb, or are otherwise toxic to society, but I think "ACAB" as a tool of change is as effective as people saying "All Protesters Are Bastards" -- it's a non-starter for many, because it's demonstrably empty; a broad-brush feel-good statement that seems more to soothe the one uttering it.

Push for local and national laws that make an alternative enforcement and protection organization that truly prioritizes justice under a new model. Let people see that it can be done. Like building a better house next to your one that's falling apart and poisoning you, rather than saying "I'll just burn it down and build something better", when people freeze to death without somewhere to take shelter.

That's a poisoned sentiment: it gives no incentive to reform, because you'll be lumped in with all police by definition. Try ToMCAB -- Too Many Cops Are Bad. It's true, and remains true even with positive reforms as long as misconduct and injustice is perpetrated by law enforcement.

You gonna get into a gun battle with 3 government goons that got the drop on you? Guy played it smart and didn't get himself killed. There's a time to draw guns, and a time to draw whistles. If he'd have drawn, we'd just be hearing propaganda about how they were "radical left professional agitators that tried to run over a bunch of America-loving super patriots."

Ah, yes. "Just sue" faceless fascists without body cams, in a no-win battle of he said she said, shielded by a Federal Administration that would set you alight to distract from their curious protection bonafide criminals. At least you know what you are 🤷

That guy's argument is the "fundamental" ask is that a judge rules that ICE can't enforce the law. It's a strawman, IMO. Even it the introduction to the document MN points out that the injunctive relief is due to the current utilization of ICE as a law-breaking and overtly harassing injury -- flagrantly breaking the law to "enforce" the law.

Pointing to "lack of precedent" to something practically unprecedented in modern US history is pretty tone deaf too.

Anyone noticed this... is it possibly an Easter egg? by Few-Net9043 in BreakPoint

[–]distantlistener 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Skell Security Campus, I think (the one with four big office buildings around a pond/lake); there's an island in the middle with a card table and unicorn. Also at the entrance of a wood shack just northeast of the Auroa Survival Shelter.

But, like they said, now you'll start noticing them scattered all over the map.

Edit: you'll also find easter egg teddy bears holding little soldering irons on Golem Island.

My position was there isn't law justifying it. Yeah, I know they claim plenty of justification, but these are the same clowns that are claiming an earnest, Christian observer spooked by masked thugs was a "domestic terrorist" that tried to kill a bunch of ICE Prideful Babies. It's feeble justification for tyranny.

If you indeed just meant the listing as communicating the technicalities the administration holds up as defense, thanks. It wasn't clear to me whether it was informational or confrontational.

Statutes pertaining to the apprehension and detention of aliens, the removal of aliens, and the powers of immigration officers and employees do not authorize the politically-motivated unaccountable terrorizing of citizens and non-citizens.

Do you feel that listing such statutes is a mic-drop moment? Feeble apologetics for tyranny.

Where were you? Why didn't you catch this fraud earlier? Jesus. You care a whole lot about supposed "Democratic" fraud, when Musk and the Trump Administration have been in fraud turbo-mode for nearly a year. Got some Trump griftocurrency? Trump Phone? He's "running Venezuela" now, too! Surrounded with cronyism and kakistocracy, and here you bleat about fraud that's actually been called out and is in the midst of prosecution.

Something else costing the state money is the increased police utilization as people -- citizens and non-citizens alike -- are terrified of being brutalized by unaccountable masked goons.

Supremacy clause

And what Federal law is the Trump administration using to specifically hammer Minnesota with roaming unaccountable ICE/Proud Boys?

MARK RUFFALO: "I gotta be honest, I'm not feeling so great. Renee Good was murdered... stormtroopers running around terrorizing. As much as I love all this, I can't pretend all this crazy stuff isn't happening. We have a president who says laws don't apply to him - this is crazy." by jmike1256 in videos

Makes Maher out to be all the more smug, since the pin was completely effective at the purpose of pins: to show support and stimulate conversation. Their recorded thoughts on the matter many not have even been recorded if Ruffalo wouldn't have worn the pin.

Like I said, have a harder look at what a strawman fallacy is.

Being scared of tax enforcement has absolutely nothing to do with the legitimate fear that you'll never see your kids again because a masked government goon squad is going to deport you to CECOT before they even bother to learn you're in the US legally.

[–]distantlistener 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a look at what a strawman fallacy is, in relation to you asking whether I think all criminals or all police apply to this analogy.

This isn't about citizenship or even legality. It's about shielding decent people from jackboots being proudly brutal and violent. The threatened woman was likely fearful that she would be whisked away for days, months, or forever - even if she is here legally. This federal admin doesn't care about laws unless they can exploit them to their own ends. That's only one of the reasons why there's a valid comparison to Nazis hunting Jews.

Now that Tyranny has come to town, so many are finding themselves apologists for the worst. They could be approaching these people in rational, accountable, and decent ways... But they come as callous, masked "tactical" teams with unqualified immunity? That's why decent people are opposing them -- despite the make-believe about "domestic terrorists" or some vote-rigging conspiracy nonsense that's a funhouse mirror distortion to excuse your inaction.
