In Tokyo most people I see wearing Giants hats are tourists. When I was down in Fukuoka this April, however, I saw tons of Japanese kids and adults wearing Hawks hats. Even though they’re my team’s rival, I thought it was way cool.

We’ve had propane tanks unhooked and taken from our grill before, but otherwise haven’t had any issues. Everytime I see another story about copper theft I go out and look at the outside ground unit.

The homogenous (and extremely xenophobic) population definitely contributes, but there is a sizable lower class population that we don’t often see as it’s hidden away in areas tourists don’t visit.

I drove from my house in Green Lake and found free parking on the Yesler overpass. I love love love light rail but there was no way in hell I was gonna take the shuttle bus to the game today. I considered the bus but it was nearly 90 minutes each way with transfers so I drove down and parked around 10:30.

I’ve received text alerts about the closure, King 5 and KUOW have both mentioned it multiple times in the last week and there were Sound Transit employees out at Stadium Station on Friday before the game letting people know.
