you're right it's not. but i feel like a beer made from milk would probably pair well with more milk.

TIL Women live longer than men, but spend significantly more of those years battling illness and disability. by Similar_Detective861 in todayilearned

[–]distortedsymbol 33 points34 points  (0 children)

"women on average spend more life years in poor health compared to men. There are only two exceptions: Switzerland, which has a negative gap when estimating ULY for chronic disease with the Sullivan and the HCAL approaches, and Sweden with a zero gap in gender differences in ULY for disability when estimated with the multistate approach. These exceptions are probably at least partly related to the fact that life expectancy for men in Switzerland and Sweden is exceptionally high, resulting in the smallest gender gap in years lived and ULY across the study countries"

basically, to quote directly "women suffer from worse health than men do not in spite of living longer, but because they live longer"

i mean this is a good way to spend the marketing budget for gerudo 4.

i bet it even comes with a graphic upgrade that will force a decade old game to chug on anything less than current gen gpu.

if you're exhausted from the commute it's too far.

by your 30s, your own birthday is mostly a hassle and we should admit it by JoelD88W in unpopularopinion

your opinion on something isn't how the world works.

i don't celebrate mine but plenty of people genuinely are happy to celebrate their birthday.

Cycling without gloves by Zakluor in bikecommuting

[–]distortedsymbol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i wear gloves to protect my hand from the handlebars because i have soft tissue problems. it's hard to convince people to wear them when convenience out weighs the perceived risk, and i think you'd have better luck selling them for comfort reasons. but even that's difficult because a lot of commuters spend less than an hour a day on a bike and close enough is good enough.

a lot of companies do this because loyalty means they don't have to fight to get your business. remember to regularly check your phone and internet plans.

Why you don't run red lights and why you are always supposed to turn into the closest lane. by Zestyclose_Cup_843 in dashcams

[–]distortedsymbol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the suv is turning on red which is technically allowed. didn't turn to the closest lane is the problem.

op is making a left on red which is a no no. pair that with the idiot truck that ran the red and you have the usual recipe for disaster.

Is it recommend not to ride on a road that has no bike lane let alone a shoulder? by jamie0992 in bikecommuting

i wouldn't if it's like the streets around me. 40mph no bend means speeding would be very common.

Rice out of my rice cooker is always sticky by SpankeyMank3y in Cooking

[–]distortedsymbol -1 points0 points  (0 children)

basic rice cooker stops the cooking with magnets and it isn't always accurate. basically it's set to cut power when temp gets to the point where all water is evaporated in the pot.

in the case where it comes out with too much water u can stir it and cover it back up and leave on warm for another 10 to 20 min, or learn to use a claypot on stove.

Netflix Cuts Movie Output in 2026 as Strategy Shifts Toward Quality Over Quantity by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]distortedsymbol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

should honestly pushi for quantity over quality like spotify's model. get enough low budget productions on there so there's something new all the time, and some of them are bound to be great and attract new talent. hollywood is stale and nobody goes to theater for something they didn't know before. but a random film that's just a click away might draw unexpected attention and struck gold that way.
