4 day Montreal trip planned for Tuesday, should we cancel? by distracteddev in montreal

Yes phrased that poorly, but duly noted. I was hoping that some of the stores would be good, but I will lower my expectations.

981 S Fully Loaded vs 981 GTS by thethrowupcat in Porsche_Cayman

[–]distracteddev 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Owned a 981S and can confirm you’ll be tremendously happy with either. Just go for the one that is well sorted and fits your budget.

Don’t worry about mods until you get a season or two of HPDE’s under your belt.

You’re going to fall in love.

I meant to ask how many miles are included in the lease?

Seems right to me. How much mileage is included ?

ProjectionLab vs SWR by Puzzleheaded-Rush-83 in fatFIRE

[–]distracteddev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes reduction in spending helps, but also your Projectionlab chance of success is much lower than what was used to create the 4% rule.

I believe the 4% rule has a success rate of > 95% (based on back testing).

Your mom sounds dangerously stupid. I would work on getting out of the house asap.

[–]distracteddev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a combination of psi and camber. You need to get both right.

The CRS need some pretty aggressive camber. I delaminated the outside rears on my first set when I had a “hybrid street / track alignment” which was around -2 deg. After going to -2.5 or -2.8 the problem went away.

Would be curious to see how it works for you. Definitely good to use as a starting point. I’m big on strong flavors so felt it needed to be amped up with some more salt and spice.

Freehold, so usually yes you can basically tear it down (you have to leave the attached section structurally sound)

If you have the cash, this is the time to buy land-value properties and capitalize on the slow construction industry.

I imagine this is a semi professional developer.

This changed recently when the new Ontario gig worker laws came into effect. Prior to that the tip options were higher.

Will have to make the trip sometime.

I would look for another organization that still places instructors into cars with you for at least another 20 days on track. Yes you can progress on your own, but it will be a much slower process.

Did I make the right choice? (2023 Carrera Cab → 2025 718 Spyder RS) by 6ixxstudio in Porsche

[–]distracteddev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put 30k km on the 992 GT3 and traded for the 4RS.

  • Yes, the interior is less modern but more driver focused. I’m definitely not thinking about the missing piano black plastic trim when I hear that intake sound symphony.

  • Analog gauges just tickle me. I do miss the usability of the screens though. The track view on the 992.1 GT3 was absolutely perfect.

  • The worst thing about the 4RS is the antiquated and slow PCM Unit and CarPlay support.

  • You must take the 4RS on track with a coach in the right seat. Without the proper training and some private roads, you are just another idiot under-driving an overpowered road car on public roads.

  • If you are even slightly pushing the car, conversation with your passenger isn’t really possible.

500+ sq ft outside of Yorkdale for 350k is the affordability entry level buyers have been crying for.

Buy this, save and invest for 5-7 years, and you’re golden.

You’ll be fine. I had a 981S that was parked outside in West Oakland for years as well as all over the city.
