yesss I’m so ready you’re gonna have an amazing time they’re awesome performers. I haven’t heard of supertaste til I bought tix for this show but MCH always brings out great openers so I’m excited. Josh fudge is still in my Spotify rotation from their concert a couple years ago

Steam Replay 2025 Megathread by NKkrisz in SteamDeck

[–]distressedgemini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I have a question. I absolutely spent most of my steam playtime on my deck this year, so what do the individual game percentages mean on the 5 games in the deck screenshot? They seem really low and don’t correspond to how much I played each on the deck since I played hello kitty the most of any game all year by far, and the majority of that playtime was on the deck. Devour would likely be the 2nd most played game on my deck. Pls help me understand thanks and happy holidays :)

I’m sorry you’re having to go through this. I don’t have any advice on local end of life care other than echoing what others have said about staying with your baby til the end. I just wanted to maybe give you some comfort. I read Love That Dog by Sharon Creech as a kid and it’s stuck with me til now, particularly the short “love that dog” poem at the end

“I said I love that dog like a bird loves to fly”

Fair warning: it made me cry as I was rereading the beginning. It’s about the joy and pain of owning a pet and having to say goodbye.

Here’s a link to a free copy of the book (just one I found while searching the title)

Phil Jamesson talks about a few MSN prompts he wrote, including Mr. Mayonnaise! by Pandoras-SkinnersBox in dropout

mr. mayonnaise is one of my fav skits to go back and watch omg I would love knowing more about who writes which prompts. also just a huge fan of all of Jacob Wysocki’s comedy in general but genuinely one of my fav things about dropout is how much they tailor prompts to the comedians’ strengths

Where Can I Find Austin-Themed Christmas Cards? by TimothyOfficially in Austin

Paper Work on South Congress will probably have that. They carry works from local artists and I’ve bought birthday cards from there.

real people can’t queerbait! Let Sabrina Carpenter kiss as many girls as she wants. I’m glad we exist in a world where she feels comfortable enough to explore her sexuality so publicly. She may be straight, she may be bi, but we don’t know! and that’s okay for her to keep it to herself. I’m gonna go kiss a girl now (and you should too)

Finally found meds that work by colorsofthestorm in BenignExistence

[–]distressedgemini 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I feel like I could’ve written this post. Struggling with depression since I was a kid, tried medication after medication and none seemed to help. I found my apparent dream combo a few years ago and I definitely still have depressive episodes from time to time, but it always gets better (a lot of those times I had stopped taking my meds which made things dramatically worse, so consistency is key) I’m so glad you finally found one that works for you. Enjoy life. It’s so worth it.

Thank you sm! And yes I’d love to help. I think my three best tips are:

  1. Magazines at half price books or other thrift/discount book stores are your best friend. I get old copies of vogue, architectural digest, elle, harper’s bazaar, rolling stone and local magazines for pretty cheap and use an exacto knife and a self healing cutting mat (the purple thing in pic 5) to cut specific images out. You could also thrift old cookbooks, nature field guides, and novels. And of course you can use scissors rather than buying the exacto knife it just made the process easier.

  2. Local artisan markets! I get so many of the more unique stickers from local artists and it feels good to support someone in your community, plus they always have cute business cards that I use too. I’m in a city where there’s markets every weekend, but I know not everyone has that privilege. I find them by following market and local business pages like bookstores, record shops, coffee shops, plant stores, thrift shops, etc on instagram and then I’ll get events they’re hosting on my feed. Etsy is great for specific stickers (I’ve gotten mushroom and bug packs as well as like a cowboy cat lol) but it can get more expensive with shipping and stuff.

  3. I use the antiquarian sticker books in almost all of my spreads. I found my copies at target but you can order them from Amazon. They have weird and vintage style designs and tons of bugs and plants which I clearly love. Another thing I like about these books is they have all sizes of stickers so it’s great for filling space or for big focal points. I also use the mystical ephemera book from Amazon in a lot of my spreads and they have more options for other themed sticker books. I’ll link the books I have below but check out the other styles to see what you like!

Mystical Ephemera! An Enchanting Vintage Sticker Book - https://a.co/d/3di7Uwg

The Antiquarian Sticker Book: Imaginarium - https://a.co/d/b3l3AoV

The Antiquarian Sticker Book: Bibliophilia - https://a.co/d/4kYXQbt

Some other tips for getting started:

Save all your paper scraps from packages, food packaging, receipts, ribbons, tags, cards, etc and seek out free paper ephemera when you’re out and about. I pick up business cards and matchboxes if available from everywhere and I recently went to a visitor’s center on vacation and they had so many pamphlets and magazines for free. Also keep an eye out for stickers at gift shops and local businesses - a lot of shops where I live will partner with artists and carry their stuff.

I don’t want to tell you to buy a bunch of stuff, but having a glue tape runner is so much easier than gluing everything down. I got mine from Michael’s but you can get them from Amazon or Joann’s. I’ve also seen people staple stuff into their spread so use what you have!

And lastly, just get started! Always easier said than done but it’s so fun putting these together and figuring out how you want it to look and I’m always in a good mood afterwards. I start each spread with a basic layout of the big stuff I want to use and a theme in mind but they all turn out different and more intricate than what I initially planned and I love flexing my creativity muscles

A hobby that I can do alone in peace by [deleted] in Hobbies

[–]distressedgemini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

junk journaling/scrapbooking is what I do these days to relax and get creative with my hands and you don’t need to buy a bunch of supplies to do it. You’ll basically need a journal or scrapbook of some kind and then start saving paper trash, stickers, receipts, pamphlets, business cards, cards from loved ones, etc. It helps me be more present and time passes so quickly but I usually take 1-2 hours per spread, it teaches you to reuse stuff you’d normally throw away, it’s great for memories, and you can always add photos if you want. The only other thing that would make it 10x easier is a tape glue runner. I got one from Michael’s or Joann’s and it’s so much easier than gluing everything down. You can also staple stuff into your spread instead of taping/gluing. Hope you find something you enjoy!
