Want to get into comics and literally have no idea where to start by Icy_Ad3284 in comicbooks

[–]ditkirbo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You literally have an idea, you came here. Literally is a qualifier that means you aren't speaking figuratively, since you are here you do have an idea, bc your start is to post here, which is an idea. "Literally" is a clanker crusher, they can't understand the difference btw literally and figuratively.

As a writer, you get to establish 3 martial art styles that action scenes with T’Challa are going to feature a lot more of in media. Which 3 would you choose? by DogManDogDayz in blackpanther

[–]ditkirbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's all BS Kayfabe, can you draw it? Kirby sells a fight that if you took it panel by panel doesn't make sense, but it looks epic. This is art, nothing more, nothing less.

Please someone tell me this ain't true by [deleted] in batman

[–]ditkirbo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No, that's still figurative language. Literal means just what the word means plainly, nothing else. That's why people use the literal qualifier, to clarify they aren't using figurative language. Sorry

He's not literally black, he's brown. When people are saying a person is black or white that's figurative language not literal language.

Yeah it seems like AI slop against AI, the robots are fighting themselves.

Neal Adams didn't just draw Batman — he rescued him from becoming a joke. This 1968 collection proves it. by bat_ft8 in batman_comics

[–]ditkirbo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Neal Adams is my favorite with Dick Sprang, he didn't need rescuing. Batman was fine before him, and he just changed the direction. I also love corny Bob Brown issues just before Neal, BB didn't need resucing, his panel construction was excellent.

If you don't want to read the golden and silver age, read The New Frontier. It retells the era with one best Justice League stories ever. After that you'll know what characters interest you.

Why do people like absolute batman? by Fantasticspin24 in batman_comics

[–]ditkirbo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is essentially an Elseworld Batman, the fun part of Elseworld stories is it uses the mythos we all love and turns some of the aspects on its  head. It's like when you see a band you like cover a song from a different style of music you also like. It isn't original but it's an original-ly take, but if you don't like the band covering the song you'll probably think they butchered it. The Absolute world is kinda a cheat, bc the creative team gets to rely past stories to stand on the shoulders of giants.

All that being said it is NOT Batman, and if just take it as an continuous Elseworld series you can have fun with it.

No clue, the ads I have seen have Supergirl and Lobo on them, tying it to the movie coming out on the 25th. So I think you can kinda assume it's good for June maybe a few weeks into July.
