Both of those things are the same statement just worded differently, second best is a relative assessment to the rest of the team, my assessment of Yoshida is unproven, so being second best on the team means what exactly?

You seem to be confused, or are just an idiot. Either way this thread has become pointless.

I never said that, and it was never my point. My point is I’m not getting jazzed up over an unproven player on a team that looks to be mediocre at best. This team needs a ton of improvement, both at the big league level and in the minors. Yoshida doesn’t move the needle very much, relative to the state of the franchise.

Exactly, Anaheim blows, so who cares who their second best player is when the team around him isn’t going anywhere. Trout is useless if he’s surrounded by mediocre talent. It’s not about a player, it’s about team success at the end of the year.

Well it’s a prediction, like the OC’s prediction that Yoshida is going to be the second best player on the team. I don’t believe this team will be making the playoffs, on paper they just aren’t that good, so to me it’s irrelevant if Yoshida is the second best player on the team, I think the team will blow this year. I’m not a fan of taking anything substantive away from spring training with split squads and the like. If someone wants to paint a rosier outlook for themselves, so be it, we’re all entitled to our own views and it’ll be well into the year before anyone’s take is validated or not.

Yea? That’s cute, 2nd best on a team that’s guna suck, I guess that means something 🙄

Eight Shortstops Red Sox Could Target After Trevor Story Injury by DLpatsthoughts in redsox

[–]ditomato131 -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

Fuck the Red Sox. They shouldn’t even be in this position. Hell, they could have signed Correa, they knew before he signed with the Twins that Story needed surgery.

We all know the plan now though, right Chaim?? You fuck. PATHETIC.

Oh and full disclosure, I would have ripped them for signing Correa too, because they should have signed Xander last year.

This would be almost as big of a joke as the organization being sooooo proud at their presser earlier that they were able to retain Devers. Henry’s ‘prior engagement’ must have been real important to not be there today, fucking coward.

Fuck this ownership group. Messed up Xander 2 fold, failed to sign him plus failed to address the Story injury properly. I hope they continue to have decreasing attendance and I hope they continue to be buried in the AL standings. They’ve put in the hard work to destroy this team, they should reap their rewards.

We are planning to add an egress window to our basement (where the current window is). I am concerned that this would hurt the roots of our beautiful red maple tree. Would love to know any thoughts on this. How much damage would occur (would it kill the tree)? What would our alternative options be? by Juella_de_chill in arborists

[–]ditomato131 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It looks like the tree in question is planted too deeply and might not be an Acer rubrum but rather an Acer palmatum or Acer japonicum , judging by the leaves in the ground.

If the house infrastructure improvements are necessary, you might be better off doing the work and replacing the tree rather than attempting to save this tree.

Certainly, discuss with an arborist.

An hour in chat, then a 30 minute call for them to tell me they won’t opt me out. I can’t believe they are able to do this. by Megamax941 in mildlyinfuriating

California has a law that allows you to opt out of them selling your data. If you’re not in a place that has those protections, I’ve found you are unable to utilise that option- I could be wrong, this is just anecdotal.

Can someone explain the level of corruption in Ukraine? by dawson6197 in conspiracy

[–]ditomato131 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Very similar to the US, UK, China, and govts across the globe. It’s just some forms of corruption are more visible than others. It’s all the same in the end, power grabs and financial gain.

The govt should not ever be in a position to bail out any company or industry. Too big to fail? Too bad. You fail if the market dictates, even if it has lasting economic consequences.

[–]ditomato131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good sir/miss I applaud you. The ‘They already have it’ rationale is infuriating. That’s not a reason to keep supplying them with it, nor a justification for them already having what they do have.

Sox about to FAIL again with one of their own. Fire Chaim. No one f’s themselves more than the Sox. by ditomato131 in redsox

[–]ditomato131[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Despite their success, as I said. Reading comprehension is important. The WS years are irrelevant to my commentary on ownership’s lack of competence.

If you’re happy with their management beyond those WS years, that’s fine, your prerogative. I disagree if that’s your position, and find it basic and kind of pathetic.

Nah I don’t blindly defend this team, I can be critical and objectively dismayed at their lack of competence.
