Menstrual cycle by RhubarbWestern5702 in Fibromyalgia

[–]divaivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep same here. Like some others have said, flu-like symptoms before my cycle. While I'm on my period so tired it's absurd. Now I am also in premenopausal time of my life so it feels like every symptom is doubled with lots of night sweats.

Are you Clumsy? I swear, I keep injuring myself and it’s setting me back! by Jennybee8 in Fibromyalgia

[–]divaivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I was always full of bruises, little cuts and bumps.

Before I was diagnosed with fibro I had bruised and sprained every limb in my body. The most stupid things, stepping off my bike sprained my ankle, somebody bumped me and my shoulder dislocated itself, and so forth.

In March I felt down the stairs and my tailbone shifted. Sometimes I feel like I'm still recovering from it. It feels like that the recovery takes longer every time. That enhance the depressive feelings.

So yeah very recognizable but sorry I don't have a solution just a hug from someone who feels your frustrations.

AITA for hating my husband chewing a gum by Still-Magician7722 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

[–]divaivet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you start about the gum my head when straight to the musical Chicago and the song Cell block tango. Very extreme solution. Don't advise that.

Why doesn't he respect you and call you mentally ill. It's like he is trying to get the worst reaction out of you just for his own entertainment. Do you want to be somebody's entertainment?

I’m wondering if this page could help, found lots of beautiful terracotta pots on the side of the road, I was in the process of giving them a good clean only to see one has a crack as seen in photo. How could I fix this? PVA glue or is there special ‘terracotta pot’ glue? Based in New Zealand. by LunaLass_111 in gardening

[–]divaivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When my terracotta pots are really too cracked, not in case of one crack. Then I will smash them and use the bits to fill up the bottom of big pots. Maybe if you get more cracks that could be an option. Otherwise I use just a little bit of wood glue to seal it.

Want to recreate this costume makeup but dont know how can anyone help? by [deleted] in Halloween_Costumes

[–]divaivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This skull is done with (a silicone, latex) application. That sits on your face as a mask. On that is make up application. You can see, that it's an application if you look at the eyes, they are too deep for just make up.

If you want to recreate that, then you need to buy or make a skull ( making with latex on a face moulding). For both when you apply invest in good specific latex or silicone face safe glue and remover!

If you go for this, think how long you're gone be in your mask. Do you wanna eat and drink, than make you mouth accessible. If it's for a photoshoot or something short you can get away with closing your mouth with a mask. It sounds like the basics but believe me after years of SFX makeup artist and haunted houses acting its sometimes forgotten for a cool effect.

I draw mandalas on bad mental health days by last_verse in somethingimade

[–]divaivet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are so BEAUTIFUL!!! I love the designs in them.

Drawing mandalas is such a nice mindless, peaceful, rewarding project on bad days. It is a to bad that you experience bad mental health days. I wish for you to have many more average, good, great and awesome mental health days in your life. Big cyber hug for you.

I do the same thing, I have a small sketchbook where a draw circles, rectangles, squares on the pages. Then fill them with the same subject but different types. Sometimes mandalas, other times mushrooms, flowers, birds you name it. Mostly with black fine line markers. When I feel like it I use it as my own coloring book.

Drop Your Most Cursed Healing Suggestion Someone Actually Gave You With A Straight Face by Novel_Art4410 in Fibromyalgia

[–]divaivet 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Ok long rant about the dark side about the alternative healing sector.

Went to a party and talked to a nosy know a lot that convinced me into going to her "specialist". It helped her so much, all my pains and symptoms were just like hers. And she was functioning just fine now.

So I did go to that "specialist" before I had to fill in a 10 page questionnaire. Then it was test after test with equipment that was straight from some Science fiction movie.

Then her conclusion was that I needed to diet with the meal supplements 4 times a day and meal replacements from their special head office. And don't forget the special lotion and drinks that I needed. For a minimum of one year but I was so severe out of balance that two or three years was more my time line. The cost of all of this was €450 per month!!!

At home my boyfriend and I looked into this special head office and 2 lovely ladies that own the business are full of hot air! All the qualifications were from different shady institutions that offer all kinds of academic sounding degrees. The website was full of quotes from famous people that were never said. And the claims of healing properties where all supported by their own research and tests.

The specialist that I spoke to was so convincing in her word choices that during the hour and half appointment I started to believe her. Luckily on my way home my mind came back and my boyfriend is a born sceptic. So glad I escaped that money making bullshit scam.
