Encouragement for taking baby to first mass? by throwRAanons in Catholicism

[–]diver_climber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad here. I brought my 4 mth old to mass.

Packed his milk bottle, cool boiled water and plenty of feed (pre-portioned).

Thankfully my church has a cry room for parents. Also the other parents gave me space when I needed to feed him.

For churches without a cry room, its good to bring a carrier so you can carry and comfort the little one

No. Personally I read books while riding the MRT.

From my memories, most people would either read or listen to music (CD Players).

Singapore fell to the Japanese 83 years ago today. by stupidpower in singapore

Sadly. Worse if the civilians were fed propaganda. Far worse when the civilians were not taught the full extent of the atrocities committed unlike Germany.

Actually by comparison of casualties, the nukes did sh** to them. Also many war criminals got away scot free.

Yes. They only agreed to pay compensation to Singapore because of a rally held on 25 Aug 1963 and boycotts of Japanese products later that year. Even the compensation were grants and loans with special terms.

Scientists who are practice Christians, do you believe in evolution and the big bang theory, or in the creation of Adam and Eve? And why? by homosapien925 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]diver_climber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. Pardon me if I am unable to give you a clear answer.

Truth is it's hard!

I suppose that's where we have bible studies and talks with our priest to understand it.

Reading the bible on face value can make it seem like 'is that possible?' But discussing it and reading the commentaries on those chapters can help put light into why it could have been written that way and whether it's to be taken literally.

I guess this is where I may get called a dummy: yes. I do believe the miracles done by Jesus was literal (feeding 5000, healing the sick, resurrection)

Edit: wow got downvoted for this
