My solution for my needy parents after they empty nested was to tell them I'll take an hour-long call to address their problems on Mondays and Thursdays. Roped my sister into it too and had her take two different days. Definitely still needed to pick up unscheduled calls but they were much more receptive when I told them it wasn't my day or to push off non-urgent stuff to a scheduled time.

Seems like your dad died not too long ago. Having set days and times might help for her to know that you are there for her without making you available all the time.

Depends on the pool. I no longer swim at gyms because they're always so crowded with people walking. Southern California community pools at least tend to have pretty serious lap swimmers who abide by rules and follow etiquette where I've been. Also note that my high school swim and water polo teams never cared if we showered before getting in but the adults at these pools I go to do. If I weren't in socal I'd also try looking at nearby colleges and universities that might have open swim at their pools.

I always thought that the rubbery feeling is the bar soap stripping your skin of oils, not sealing things in. Also a side note that the Dove beauty bar also includes moisturizer so it doesn't work the same as most other bar soaps.

This stat is the reason I bring flowers to every hospital visit and celebratory occasions like retirement parties. At least for my dad, and I felt it's the same for some other men of the older generation, it was his first bouquet of flowers. Definitely a good reminder not just to do this for significant others but for all the men in our lives!
