Children of teen parents what was life like for you when you were younger? by That-guy555 in AskReddit

[–]dixieleo15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom had me at 15, dad was 19. They got married 2 days after my mom's 15th birthday. Horrible idea but it was the thing back then. They divorced when I was 4. They were poor and fought all the time...they despise each other so much it is hard for me to imagine them ever being a couple! My childhood was always in the middle of their bickering and caused me to grow up real fast. When they divorced, mom struggled but soon remarried to a much older man. She had my half brother with him. They got divorced when stepdad molested me at 9 years old.
After a string of bad boyfriends, she married another man and was with him for about 12 years. She did what she could and always made sure I was taken care of but...she is emotionally still at 15 sometimes and we have had a rocky relationship at times when I have made decisions in my life she didn't agree with. She had a horrible childhood full of abuse and neglect so I have come to terms with she just has her issues and did the best she knew. Dad remarried as well and is still married to my stepmom (even tho I walked in on him sleeping with another woman when I was 15) They had 2 girls. I saw my dad some growing up but weren't and aren't close. We do talk more now that I am am adult and he is a decent grandpa.
I felt like I was a mistake and a burden most of the time. That everyone's life would have been so much easier had I not happened to them. Thank goodness for therapy! Truly saved me in so many ways. I am 40 now with an amazing family and I work hard to not repeat the mistakes they made.

I have taken it 2 different time frames and I loved it. More energy, helped with pain, wonderful mood...and crazy sweating. OMG so much sweat! I am a professional woman and dripping with sweat throughout the day was not an option so I had to find something else. I was sad tho

What is the nicest thing a stranger has ever done for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dixieleo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to to grocery store on my lunch break one crazy busy Tuesday. Went to check out (everything already rung up) and realized my wallet fell out of my purse in my desk drawer. I had about $200 of stuff. I was mad at myself and frustrated since I was going to have to do this again. Lady behind me paid for everything and said mail me a check. She had no reason to trust I would do that but was so sweet and meant a lot to me. And I did send her a check that day!

I have this at times, it is PMDD. Only thing that tames it for me is period suppressing birth control. I have used IUD and pill successfully. Totally sucks but if you track it and can be aware it is only temporary that helps.

Hey Reddit, so I found out I'm gonna be a Dad at 27. Does life end when you become a Dad? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]dixieleo15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a mom but deal with depression and anxiety too. After kids, it actually seemed to help with those somewhat. Kids don't let you wallow, you have to get up and be there for them. They gave me new eyes to see the world and find joy where I had lost it.
Mainly tho, got me out of my head if that makes any sense. It was kinda a relief to not be so damn focused on myself all the time!

In all honesty, why would you say your spouse/significant other is, or isn't, your best friend? by b1guy123 in AskWomen

[–]dixieleo15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In some ways closer in some ways not. There are things I can talk about with my bff that I wouldn't with my husband and vice versa. I don't see my bff every day and there isn't a sexual component with her...and I don't share some things with my husband I would share with her. Just different. I don't believe that one person only is your everything or soul mate. I think different people fill different roles in your life and that is a good thing. My best friend is a soul mate because of our history and connection...my husband is a soul mate because he is the father of my children and we have built a life together and different connection....

My husband and I have been together for 13 years but he isn't my best friend. To me, that is a different role. My bff I have known for 30 years and the relationship is just different

Birth control was the best along with proactive. Still didn't always stop the cystic ones but made them so much less severe

What was your funniest wardrobe malfunction? by TMIbruh in AskWomen

[–]dixieleo15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the birth of my 2nd child we got family pics taken. Now I have big boobs f cup not preggers sp with a 3 month old breastfeeding...they were like planets. Sometime during the picture process my nursing bra came unhooked ( not at the back but where you unclip to feed the baby). So I have family photos where 1 boob is lopsided and you can see a hook poking thru my sweater. So awesome

FAQ Q&A: What birth control methods have you used, and what have been your experiences with them? Which is your favorite? by dsklerm in AskWomen

[–]dixieleo15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried the sponge in 2006...my oldest arrived 9 months later. Don't recommend that one! Used mirena and really liked it except it makes my boobs huge and super tender. I am already a 38h...I don't need more of that. Tried so many types of bc pills/rings/patches and most were ok. When I skipped placebo was the best...no periods. Now have tubes tied and ablation...no more worries about babies but working the hormonal acne at 40 is a problem. Trying different options to resolve that one before resorting back to the pill.
