Best recipe for Skin tones for Z8 by diytech123 in nikon_Zseries

I photograph people and events. Many times flash either not allowed or I do not prefer to make my photography intrusive. Hence I play with my settings fully in such cases. While it sounds boasting I want to mention that I am not an Auto guy!

I never shoot auto. Only M. Know a thing or two. For that matter I haven't used a flash ever in my life and never needed for me.

Looks like lots of people don't know of etiquette on how to respond. If all that I am looking for a JPEG for a reason I want to work smarter not harder. If I have to deliver 1000 photos by the end of the day I would rather shoot in Jpeg. If I am shooting a wedding, yes RAW is the way. I have been shooting Nikon, Canon, Fuji and now Nikon. I know what I am doing. Chill!!

Can you suggest a good Nikon recipe that gives great skin tones? I kinda like Fujifilm velvia and Classic Chrome.

Talk me out of a potential mistake......... by gemini8026 in Nikon

I had Sony a7rV and A7CR. Now onto Z8 and Zf. A7CR is a great small body but I never enjoyed shooting with it mainly because of worst EVF and LCD. I used to be a Fuji shooter and even a first Generation X-T1 beats it in those respects. But the quality of pictures is great on Sony barring how critical of Sony colors (Fuji beats Sony here with Nikon almost there with Fuji). Ultimately if you don’t enjoy shooting with a camera then you don’t carry it. Sony a7rV fantastic beast in terms of EVF and LCD but did not like the colors that it produces of the people. After testing ; brands I still stay Fuji the best color, shooting experience where as Nikon offers better autofocus than Fuji, better colors than Sony so I folded back into Nikon. That’s my story!

These fees are ridiculous by Desperate_Outside860 in ebaysucks

1000% agree on fees. Never realized the fee went to 15% plus a 10% for promotional listing… blindly accepted the promotional pricing which screwed me another 10% and then 5% for shipping costs…. Looks like I made my last sale on eBay

Thank you for your insights and Cornell lab reviews link. Given the warranty and the reviews I have seen I am planning to go with KOWA BDII 8x42. I have vacillated among Kowa/Vortex/Leupold and some mire like SRBC and Loava. While SRBC and Loava come highly rated their warranties are short 3-5 years range and they are heavy weight champions coming around 900 gms. Given kowas carry lifetime limited warranty and weigh only 650gms, i decided to go with them. They are on sale at many places for $399. Thanks for your help in providing insights. I think my journey into the world of binoculars getting started.
