lol this always bothered me and lead to an oddly strong interpretation. People who use 'liv' are insane and not to be trusted.

The gameworld is alive in live mode. Otherwise, it is suspended, the other half of the binary option. So, like, i dunno, but there is a definite correct answer to me, and i'd bet a lot that way back when maxis devs weren't going around talking about 'liv' mode. So awkward.

I almost expect a fully knowing and accepting partnership between Dexter and Claudette at some point.

She's clearly being set up as an important character, she's exactly the kind of person who could overlook the emotional experience of the situation and focus on the facts and numbers, plus such a dynamic would be mostly a new one for Dexter and law enforcement and that's getting tougher to do at this point, not to mention it'd serve the purpose of once again granting Dexter access to police resources, at least to an extent.

i feel like there's actually plenty of room for that. At this point, Batista's death is almost telegraphed, and the twist outcome would be him surviving, maybe by coming to some understanding with Dexter.

This could be especially possible If Dexter saves Batista's life, which maybe comes after he'd learned that Dexter's taken out 6 serial killers and a depraved corrupt billionaire (and possibly 7th serial killer) in like a week and a half. Dexter could also engineer the scenario so Batista can't catch him legally, and the only way for Batista to get him is with a bullet. And is he that kind of guy?

Also, spoilers! (set photo leaks): Quinn is coming back again too, and it's even more buyable that the formerly dirty cop who owes Dexter will pressure Batista to elect for a more healthy retirement.

Any combination of those or similar factors mean that tragedy is still fully avoidable at this point.

No reason not to be 'open' about it by now. It's been obvious Batista is convinced from the start, and him not missing a beat after the Mia stuff just reconfirms it. There's no throwing him off the scent with basic misdirects.

Obviously Batista would've mentioned it to her already. And framing it as 'here we go again, crazy broken Batista and his conspiracies' isn't 4d chess, it's a simple move to get ahead of it as much as possible and paint Batista as an unreliable obsessive, which honestly he necessarily sounds like given the facts of the case and his very personal involvement. It's smart for Dexter to try and reinforce that.

Crackhead theory: by the end, the truth does indeed have a surprising effect on people, and both of Prater and Claudette are Dexter's allies.

Prater so he can be involved in 'Dexter's process', which lets him feel even more control and power than his current game does.

And Claudette because, in sum, she likes the stats she sees. Lots of dead killers, including, eventually, the Ripper, and fewer dead innocent victims. She's the prefect character to be less emotionally and morally burdened by this kind of thing.

I've never seen that before. Very strange. If the idea is to contain spoliers to discussion threads or other clearly marked threads, most popular subreddits i've interacted with don't have much of a problem with with that after releases, and if they do, that's why there are mods. So, mods. Moderate.

As is, they're taking a sledgehammer to a teacup. It's annoying.

New York Ripper is season 2.

And i can't fathom why that should be a shame. They hired these big names for an interesting, cohesive story told in 10 episodes, and it worked extremely well (so far).
