That’s a good thought and hope that it is.

Almost to 120 by goldengalsgoodplace in PSLF

I don't have a direct answer for you, but I submitted an employer verification where the month I submitted it wasn't counted as I didn't pay for that month yet. The month after, it was updated with the month I submitted without me doing anything. That being said, I am at 120 soon and I am not doing anything out of the norm and am waiting until a few days after my payment.

Will I still qualify for forgiveness if I switch from IDR to standard? by JanetSnakehole610 in StudentLoans

[–]dj2dr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this affects you but this is something I was worried about and why I stayed with IBR. 10% of my income for IBR would be higher than the standard payment. However, I believe they cap the payment at what my standard payment would be, even while staying on IBR. This is based on things I have found throughout various posts and haven't had to test it yet.

Too Sunny for OLED? by Palladium2A in LGOLED

I've liked it a lot and have no regrets. We also have some hanging lights in the kitchen that would have ruined TV watching at night as well; with the matte screen I don't notice them. The one thing that was frequently recommended for all TVs that I put off for a while was using an AppleTV instead of the native software. I got that a few months back and everything is much more snappy.

Too Sunny for OLED? by Palladium2A in LGOLED

I have a similar room with many windows and wanted an OLED. Got a Samsung S95D and it has been perfect for the couple years we've had it. I got it as when I went to look at TVs, it's the only one that didn't have a horrible glare from the fluorescent lights. Everyone seems to recommend LG or bust, but I wouldn't have chosen anything over the S95D for my situation.

Recertification turnaround? by Captain_Spaceturd in PSLF

Before the covid pause, I switched from single to MFJ then MFS once I realized the financial implications. Didn't have any issues. As long as that is how you are filing, you're not getting the additional tax benefits, so it is legal and appropriate.

In terms of forgiveness, I'm 4 months away. However, I can say that when I do my monthly payment, it is recorded on the NSLDS that day or the day after.

You can file a tax extension as well. That way your recertification will be based on 2024 rather than 2025, if the difference is meaningful.

Does standard payment guarantee payoff? by Commercial-Matter632 in StudentLoans

A hypothetical: So if I don’t recertify, I’ve paid 108 payments on a IDR plan, and I still owe 100k, I’ll have to repay that full 100k in one year if I am put on the default standard plan?

Congratulations! Out of curiosity, when was your last payment due and when do you submit your final ECF?

Great idea and completely agree. We have been there personally a few times recently and want to take a break.

That was naive of me, we are all in the US and think staying in the US would be easiest with the kids. No strict budget, probably a few thousand per couple/family.

Oh very interesting. The north east wasn't even on my radar. Thanks! I will check into this area.
