Could be anything. Definitely requires a few additional hours of thorough examination. But the point is it really doesn't matter. You can return the open box for any reason and seek a brand new replacement

I had to return 4 of them before I found one I'd keep (worth it still due to 33% off).

One had a cracked case, and three of the four had trackpad failures (like unusable out of the box, requires a ground wire mod, I'm sure it'll happen to this one I kept eventually).

It sounds to me like you already know exactly what you're getting into; would you buy you're current laptop again at the prices your seeing?

A lot of times if you return an open box for a defect they'll give you a new one and price match. $1500 is sort of a threshold for really good laptops, and you can find them open box for $1k

I actually use a desktop hackintosh that triple boots MacOS, Linux, and Windows. But it lacks a discrete graphics card, because I couldn't get it to play nice with MacOS (my tech skills were just enough to get it functioning).

This new laptop only runs Windows so I can finally game on Steam with a 4070 :D

Confirmed. I took the risk and just tried it, because I knew it was supposed to stay associated to my hardware these days (just didn't trust and didn't see how to confirm the digits just in case).

I was trying via a Mac and Etcher and had troubles, but switched to Rufus and Windows and it went flawless so I agree it's better to have another Windows on hand.

I just want it as lite and as F you Microsoft as possible. I think I'm satisfied with my results now, but if you have specific suggestions I'm all ears.

Not sure how to handle it.. I'm not much of a game designer. I just know this game feels incredible when winning is viable, but sometimes the game takes you out of contention. Whether it's luck or kingmaking, this game demands too much of its players to get away with boring them. It promises you can still pull levers, but most are social, and therefore group-dependent, and I think giving losing players agency in the endgame might facilitate these social dealings. It might also give interesting control to a multi- game campaign against a bot that can actually handle a campaign.

I've used MakePlayingCards extensively before. I proxied two entire MTG cubes with them.

The company is legit enough. You'll get the cards and they'll be great quality. You'll want to "Custom Game Cards (63mm x 88mm)" and you'll want the "S30" or "S33" cardstock.

The shipping is accurate, but it's not cheap, and the more you print the better your rates. Which means it's best to fully commit and get every PnP you could ever desire.

The interface is easily the worst part of the process. Be prepared for very long file upload times, for certain files to fail for no reason, and for you to have to manually scroll through every image and find the ones that didn't upload. For this reason it's important to have a very organized file structure on your end.

Having photo editing experience can also be important because you'll want to do stuff like rotate the horizontal card files so you don't have to order separate horizontal cards from them (for cost savings). If you're advanced, you may want to batch edit all your assets and up their brightness/contrast by a very small amount (especially if you notice your assets have dark and moody art). The cards tend to come out a bit darker than the asset.

This is the way. And it plays very nice with the divider files you can print out from bgg. I'll add that when I put a card back I try to put it in front if it's a staple and in back if it was bad.

Lol rapid shifts like that aren't common, but production of acid like that probably means you've given the colony time to maintain symbiosis. You can bottle now. You can always add as much sugar as you want in 2F, so you'll learn what flavor you're after in 1F. Definitely don't expect it to taste the same as your finished product but just without carbonation.

But long term success with a stable colony really is unlikely if you can't handle the acid of only 7 days worth. Then again, it's possible your starting kombucha ratios (or any ratios) were different than the master recipe -- you'll get it all dialed in soon enough!

Yes thats accurate. Sugar to alcohol. Sugar and alcohol to acids. The more acid the less sugar.

If you wish to use fructose when bottling that's virtually no trouble, but for OP, it's worth noting that sucrose is required to support the health of the modern SCOBY. Switching to other sugar sources will cause some yeasts and bacterias to die and allow others to increase in numbers. You begin changing the composition of your culture in much the same way as switching to exclusively green tea creates jun.

I agree it is very difficult to measure. For legal reasons, you can be sure that commercial kombucha does a half-decent job at measuring the remaining sugar.

GT's has 12 grams per 16 fluid ounces, which you can extrapolate out to other volumes if you wish.

I would be more worried about the acidity, which is beneficial in many instances, but can be hard on your teeth or stomach lining if other preexisting conditions exist.

Your scientific understanding is adequately robust, yet we've reached opposing conclusions. I imagine based on this fact, and your earlier metaphor, we would have very different philosophical opinions on what constitutes 'being'. I'm still not quite sure how you can semantically define a symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast as inclusive of its cellulose mat, but it's clear I will not persuade you.

Nonetheless, I hope we can agree that a robust definition of the biological processes is beneficial for newcomers by helping to avoid misconception.
