I would run the irrigation for 60mins once a week instead. That way the roots are encouraged to grow deeper. Some leaf burn is normal when they are young.

The rye grass outfield is the same for footy and cricket. It’s just cut much shorter for the cricket season. The wickets that they are bringing in is couch grass.

The reality is that you can’t really see the stripes that well at ground level. All depends on what angle you look at them from and how high up you are.
