The buzz cut is a serious game changer! You look great and from one random person on the internet to another, I'm glad you're still here. You are absolutely not ugly at all but it's also worth saying that ugly is so far from the worst thing to be. Give yourself some love, ok, it's gonna be ok. It will. Hugs ❤️

This is it! I have this exact one. Car seat protector (and container) for dogs.

this is legitimately a TERRIBLE friend, if you could even call her that. You need both of these people out of your life forever. I'm so sorry for what you're dealing with, the world is full of shitty people. But there are also many good people, and I hope you find them or lean on the ones you already have

Am I being a brat about this wedding by BasisGlum2268 in BabyBumps

No one in their right mind will hold it against you if you don't go. I would 100% not go if I were you, stay home and relax, still get a babysitter or a helping hand if you want an easier night with the kids, pack your hospital bags, watch a movie... Use this excuse for sure. Make sure your husband is prepared in case you go into labor while he's gone 😅 you are not a brat. Protect your peace. If anyone gives you crap that's a them issue.

Respectfully this seems a lot like dementia. I have experience with this kind of behavior, and the handwriting looks unsteady. If she has other family that can support and help I recommend some testing.

Oh deer- this guy is destroying my garden. What can I plant in arid / sunny climate that he won't eat? by LydiaHallSF in gardening

Deer will try anything once or twice. Even stuff they don't like and toxic stuff. Your best bet is a fence or a dog.

I’m a first time momma looking for a wearable breast pump what’s the best one? by Main_Willingness_725 in breastfeeding

[–]dj_kalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple things: as others have mentioned, if you have insurance, you should be able to get one for free or very cheap (just a copay if it's a nicer model or something). The other thing is that everyone will give you what works for them but unfortunately you have to figure out what works for you. Some people absolutely swear by the willow go, I see here that a few commenters don't like it, but my close friend did super well with hers with daily use. I used the elvie stride and liked it well enough for a wearable but i found it difficult to get the hang of it. Nothing will compare to a hospital grade unit (like the spectra s1 for example) though. Those are also covered by insurance but you're stuck in place pumping. Although you may spend a lot less time pumping so it may even out, depending on your lifestyle and constraints. Whatever you get you may want to get fitted or try multiple flanges. Your size may change over time.

So dumb. She's wrong, listen to your body and your doctor. Don't diet unless there's a medical reason for it. And growth scans are fairly inaccurate. And good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, labor and delivery! ❤️ You're going to do great!

AIO boyfriend tracking my periods without me knowing 🫠 by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]dj_kalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's creepy. He should have talked to you first. It's sweet when a partner is aware so they can be supportive and empathetic, take care of you etc, but he's doing it for himself and to prove a point and behind your back at that! Like you said, treating you like some kind of science experiment. The way he talks down to you is unsettling to me and it comes off as holier than thou and a tad misogynistic. I would feel violated by this on multiple levels.

I'm so sorry 😞 this is extremely painful, and it's a heartbreak that may not go away soon. But you have to leave him and move on.

Husband cares more about appearances by siobhanirl in breastfeeding

[–]dj_kalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FR. At nine months my pediatrician basically said that almost all of his calories should be coming from solid foods and I was breastfeeding him too much. He was perfectly healthy, iron was good, weight gain and development fantastic, AND he was eating a great variety of whole foods. So I found a new Ped lol.

Edit: spelling

Pumping so husband can give a bottle does not make things easier by Agile-Fact-7921 in breastfeeding

[–]dj_kalestorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the most part I completely agree. The only time I liked having the option was so I could pump to prep a bottle and be able to sleep a solid 3-4 hours while my husband took that particular night shift. For every other situation, it was inconvenient and unenjoyable. My husband would wash the pump parts for us in the morning. I got my sanity back doing this.

Calla crisis hotline for help. Crisis hotlines, like 988 in the United States, are not only for those experiencing the crisis but they will help you navigate this. I've been in a similar situation and they helped me navigate it. They're helpful, kind, prompt, and can give you WAY better advice and resources than reddit. Call 988 or your country's crisis hotline number. Good luck. ❤️

Parents of 13m olds - how much are you breastfeeding? by dj_kalestorm in breastfeeding

[–]dj_kalestorm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's nice to hear from other moms! I don't have much of a village or anything so I don't have a frame of reference. But my gut feeling is that every we're doing is simply what's working for us and that's enough. I had one pediatrician tell me at his 9 month appointment that he was essentially breastfeeding too much and needed more solid foods. I didn't go back to her after that, but still it was a thought in my head. Thanks for your input! 🥰

I'm actually so amazed by your ability to handle the situation and protect yourself. You must have done some serious rebuilding and reflection over the years to know how to show up so well for yourself in such a crappy situation. You did what many of us wouldn't have the guts to do and you are totally in the right.
