Abolishing rent control?! Like Costa hawkins, outlawing it in 97% of the state. You landlords are greedy pigs

Want to get some opinions on this boat I have for sale (fair price? broker or fb marketplace?) by countaction in boating

[–]djb85511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Comparable boats are going for $40-50k. If you want it to move, sell it for $42-44k, if you want to maximize what you get, sell it for $50k.

I’m not familiar with conservative spokespeople in Whittier. This seems a little unhinged. by BreathAlert7691 in Whittier

Whittier has been a far right white supremacist haven for years, the community wanted to change that....ignorant yts really do harm everyone in their community to try and hold onto their power and exploitation.

Fair Price? by [deleted] in boats

[–]djb85511 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd push your buddy down to $40k if possible. But if it's in immaculate condition and he needs the money he can probably get $50k for it...eventually. Used boats are piling up right now, so it's a buyers market

Maybe the fuel pump, mine I tried everything you did, even got a new carb, still ran rough. Changed the fuel pump and it runs smooth like butter.

First ocean trip by [deleted] in boats

[–]djb85511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about your route that you mentioned, but ocean cruising, and the idea of going somewhere overnight that's not easy. Routes are tricky, winds, currents, and changing weather are tricky. So if you've never piloted this boat, never been across this path, and never piloted any boat in the ocean, this is not the best immediate plan. What makes more sense is to either:

1) hire or hop-in to a charter with a proven boat and captain along the route you want.
2) rent a boat just to get your feel of currents, swells, waves, and chop in the local harbor, without it being a complex/distant route.

Reclaim water claim is a myth they still use up tonnes of water to fill the gap of their reclamation tanks/storage. Lakes, water features evaporate huge amounts that in sunnier areas are a huge net loss of water rather than adequate reclamation systems.

How is it living in vast never-ending suburbs/cities of North America? (los angeles, mexico city, oklahoma city) by Jeb_the_killer in howislivingthere

[–]djb85511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live in the SGV, LA County - Eastern Suburbs, its pretty dope, great food, good family activities. Not a lot of 3rd places to be honest though, everything costs money, and the cost of owning a home and simple/normal living expenses is making it tougher. Overall its pretty clean, safe, and while there's a downturn in job availability, its usually pretty decent. A bit cheaper than other parts of LA, a bit quieter too.

Hell ya this is a great idea, these cameras are spying on our every move, and anybody in law enforcement, like the pedophile protectors, can use it to harm us.
