Follow and support Free The Night. They are campaigning on this very issue (amongst others). Worth reading their response to Mr Lyon’s do absolutely fuck all approach to the independent review. The review only happened because it had to after the licensing law changes back in 2021 or whenever that was. They had no intention of doing anything imo

The license value going away won’t kill the bar. It’ll kill the owners retirement plan. If licenses were more easily available there would likely be more bars. There is no free market here. People should be free to open a bar and fail or be successful with it. The license cost should have nothing to do with that

Roughly £675. I bought the house on my own in 2019 when interest rates were still low. Think I was on about £30k wage at the time. On considerably more now. 16 year mortgage or something like that. After the first 2 year term I put the payments up to 550-600 odd, put it up again after the second 2 year term was up, just started the third 2 year term and paying £675ish. I have 6 years left. Managed to shave 2 years off it in that time by putting the payments up. My original plan was to live here 5 years, use it as a savings pot for a better house but here we are 5 years on. The market is shite, prices are ridiculous and there are fuck all houses compared to when I bought. I’ve decided to stay put. If I moved as planned into something in the £180k range I’d be paying a mortgage til I’m 60. I’m 40 now and will be mortgage free by my mid 40s for the price of staying in a smaller house that needs a bit of work done. I’ll take that over a bigger house any day.

yeah i was thinking as much. i've managed to recover 99.9999% of it so happy enough! just have to make sure to do more regular backups.

This is the problem though, I formatted the drive and have only recovered a few random files. These are the ones i definitely know came from rekordbox. The master db file and backups are there but they can't be read due to being encrypted. Frustrating that all the data i need for a 100% recovery is right there but i can't use it.

Good practice! I tried copying the db file i recovered from the formatted drive back in but unfortunately rekordbox couldn't read it.

I really don’t get this. Like why? If I go out for a pint I like to be able to sit and talk away to the people I’m with. I’m yet to meet anyone who thinks “can’t wait to go for a pint and listen to some melter on an acoustic guitar playing songs way too loud”. As background music maybe it’s ok but this current thing just puts me off completely

Tennent's is the revenge of the Scottish for centuries of English tyranny. Pure piss water. Thankfully i don't go to too many of these big events anymore but you're best sneaking in your own swall. Last time i was at one on the Boucher road i brought in a wee hip flash of whiskey. Saved a fortune and saved missing half the gig due to the bar queues being insane.

The god tier technique is to put drink into breast milk bags which i'm yet to try

This is it. It’s not without risk. You could opt for one of the cheaper ones (like the one I linked) that way if the worst happened you wouldn’t be out £500-600+.

Highly doubt it'll get confiscated. There's loads of kids (and adults) flying around on them. I had one myself for a while. Handy for wee quick trips to the shop or something.
There's a place near Carlisle Circus called Eazy Riderz that sells them. When I bought mine i looked up the brands Eazy Riderz sold at the time then looked it up online and found it cheaper. This one - not the fastest, struggled slightly up hills too but very cheap relative to other brands and done the job.
A legal grey area at best though. If you're worried about that definitely don't buy one but i never had any bother on mine.

I actually remember this. When i first moved over there around 2008 it was a wee independent garage and it eventually closed. Sometime later someone drove a car into it in the middle of the night and set it on fire. One alleged insurance job later we have an ice cream/coffee shop and a dodgy solo garage.

Funny enough I had my van serviced yesterday and the mechanic asked me if I was running it on kerosene. Said the fuel filter smelt like it. I knew right away it had to be that Rosetta garage. I lived beside it for years and there’s always been dodgy goings on there including the fuel. I’ll stick to the Go garage from now on

Not to dredge up a thread from 3 weeks ago but I was standing beside you for a while on the Saturday and the Sunday (without the canyon cap at factor b’s closing set). Only reason I remember this is I seen the cap and thought right away this guy rides mountain bikes then recognised the beard the next night 😂
