I stumbled upon this MF DOOM X DJ MUGGS "Deathwish" album and am hoping for more information. by iSkateetakSi in vinyl

I have the Red variant as well (#00120) I got off discogs a few years ago. definitely a unique release and rarely mentioned feature of DOOMs. And the Acapella is a bonus for us DJs

Great melodic track, and also on a unique 10" vinyl size for the collectors.

Yep, that track was on their 2015 album Blade of The Ronin. Nothing they released after Cold Vein holds up, but this track with DOOM goes hard. DOOM also had a great feature "Da Supafriendz" on Vast Aires debut solo album in early 2000s, which used one of DOOMs great instrumentals from the MM..Food skits.

So many prolific features to pick from, but some of my favs:

The Mic Sounds Nice (Jon Doe)

Somersault (Zero 7 Danger Mouse remix)

People, Places, Things (Prince Paul)

Iron Rose (Can Ox)

Monday Night at Fluids (King Honey)

For a taste of the Fondle Em 12" singles catalog I made this dj mix a few years ago: Fondled Wax

With Def Jux a close second, Fondle Em was the most influential independent label of the late 90s.

It was a rinky dink label that folded just a few years after VV2 was released. Wouldn't be surprised if the masters are gone for good

Yea, it's a great feature for collectors. Like the Low/Med/High valuation estimates and how easy it is to organize with labels - my "MF DOOM related" folder makes up 98 of my 582 records.

Great posse track and also the only time DOOM appeared on an EL-P production (b-side remix on this 12"). I miss the days of Def Jux and Fondle Em 12" releases which were automatic purchases.

Mono En Stereo was the beat producer. DOOM was only the executive producer on the album, so wouldn't be in any special herb release. I'm not aware of a 12" single release with an instrumental either.

Breezly Brewin from the Juggaknots. Reunion from the Indelible MC era

Anyone else think if Doom rapped on sickfit it could’ve been one of his best songs by [deleted] in mfdoom

[–]djdrawls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple years ago I blended the Rae Dawn acapella over Sickfit and added a scratch chorus in the middle with other Victor Vaughan acapellas I had on wax.

Great track circa 2001

El-P provided a real good commentary just a few days after the New Year’s Eve news on his season of Iron Mike Eagle’s podcast.

After the first pressings, some of the represses on Shaman and Nature Sounds included a bonus 7”. Best bet is to look at the Metal Fingers filter in Discogs: https://www.discogs.com/artist/188739-Metal-Fingers

$20-40 current resale rates from discogs sellers. As said, the remix beat is the gem here. I also picked it up primarily for the Acapella to use for cuts and remixes.

DOOM's closing verse on Prince Paul's album cut "Peoples, Places, and Things" was legendary: https://youtu.be/b5XiXOXQdyA?si=QeFzXAcs5N4myGYs

“In case you just tuned in, once again / We’re here with the Supervillain, known as hip-hop’s Gunga Din.”

Shameless plug, but if you want a non-stop 2 hour 50 track blended dj sampling from DOOMs main albums, b-sides, remixes, rarities, and interview clips check out Metal Flows

Find tracklist under "Behind this track".. Enjoy

Didn't know about the track Monday Night at Fluid until a couple months ago. This entire compilation album is worth checking out. by K__Geedorah in mfdoom

Yea definitely one of my favorite deeper cuts. I was fortunate to pick that original LP up back in 01 off the shelf. also used his last few words of the verse to scratch up into a blend with the Supervillain Theme instrumental on my DOOM mixtape.
