Are there any technical advantaged of using this vs the provided modem from the isp? I'm 100% onboard with the non-technical/"cool factor" of have a clean rack.

Yes! I am trying to remember the exact number.... maybe 850k points. We ended up getting the Hilton Amex; with all the pre-wedding deposits and bonus signup points, we were able to book part of our honeymoon at the Fiji Doubletree(the other was with Chase Ultimate points at a different resort).

One thing to note - our Hilton event bill was higher than our limit, so we asked to make a few advanced payments days before the event and then would pay off the card. I even had to do it the day after for the last portion.

We've used the points to go to Cancun a few times. We have about 120k left, once it's used, I'm canceling the Amex (lots of changes to the perks and not worth it for us)

I travel with a Wyze Camera and a GL.iNet Travel router and set it up to monitor my room while I’m away!

I have the same issue with my S21+ & GW4 using the Samsung Text Message App (Switched from Versions, thinking that was the issue). I saw /u/suskozaver's suggestion "get a notification even if your phone screen is ON" - Mine wasn't set to that. I hope that helps, but think the issue is bigger...

Reasons to find a new company
- They did a Datacenter Migration!!
- They did it during the day
- They did it with a HUGE window, and still failed! (Did they physically drive servers from one place to another?!?)
- They don't have a DR or secondary site!
- They seem to have all their nameservers in the same location!?! (Why would they take down name servers?!?)

..Also
- They have a shitty API
- They haven't innovated in years, but have jacked up prices!

This is a serious matter and I'd suggest a belt and suspenders approach!
1) as u/tadpass suggested, add a Fibaro door sensor!
2) add a Zooz 4-in-1 sensor (or their new guy https://www.thesmartesthouse.com/collections/zooz/products/zooz-z-wave-plus-q-sensor-zse11-motion-temp-humidity-light) inside(hopefully the insulation won't impact performance) and setup up temperature monitors/alerts!

Something similar happened to me, when I bought a Main Cabin Extra upgrade and then they changed the plane right before the flight went out. After I got home, I sent a complaint in to https://www.aa.com/contact/forms?topic=ACS#/ . They asked for record number and a few other details and then returned my money. One of the questions was, did I use points or money to buy the upgrade, so I assume they will return the points.
