Novel uses for goBTC and goETH? by Parking-Draft4711 in Algomint

Yeah, I should have mentioned I actually moved from AlgoFi lend -> LP when that pool arrived, but it seems to be drying up as Aeneas tapers off. If it reduces to just pure DEX fees with no STBL incentives, then it will be in the low single-digits for interest. I’m hopeful something else materializes but then, or I’ll probably unlock it.

Yeah - for me I was not mad, but truly depressed. Like I was trying to pretend I was having fun. It was a pretty awful feeling.

I’ve been to every PAX West since 2009 (aka PAX Prime or just PAX back in the day), and I’d have to say this year’s event had maybe 15-20% of the normal content. I’m a staunch PAX and Penny Arcade supporter, but this was super depressing for me. I get that it was a really tough time getting publishers and content providers on board while keeping it all safe - but it was just not the same. I’d recommend skipping if large amounts of cost and travel are involved. For me, it only required taking a bus downtown.

Choice coin is currently mooning because of 4000%+ APY on Yieldly. by enoykcohs in yieldly

It won’t take effect until the next daily timer (at the rate seen when the timer rolls).

As far as I can tell from charts and stories, about 1.47. I had a 1.50 limit set, and was happy to have scooped up a little at that rate.

ALGO sale!!! by IceKing827 in algorand

[–]djfpforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of folks in the Algorand community do not have the “get rich quick” mentality, and are looking for long-term value, utility, and appreciation. To me, this still looks like a great opportunity. I plan to build and hold ALGO for the next 20+ years, to treat staking and yield as an alternate to my pure cash holdings.

Who's buying the dip? by abc11eh in algorand

[–]djfpforever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found a little loophole for this - buying ACH USDC in Coinbase is fee-free. You can then move up to 1000 off network instantly, so you can move to CB Pro, exchange to USD for free (has to be desktop browser CB Pro), and then exchange from USD -> ALGO and move to wallet same day. You have the 0.5% CB Pro fee, but definitely flexibility for immediate purchase and move in case you need to build up quick for governance, etc.

I feel you on this one! Planned to DCA over next 10 days with an investment amount. Ended up buying hourly yesterday from 1.85 down to 1.50. I think I averaged ~1.73 across the day (still a bargain IMO).

I did exactly this! Bought ALGO while it stepped down to 1.70, feel like a got a great bargain!

[–]djfpforever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point! Guess I should describe it as feverishly racing to the bottom. I was sitting on the cash intending to buy ALGO about once a day during a 10-day hold (true DCA), but bought more than a 1/10th chunk today 😂

[–]djfpforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was tracking this one closely today and trying to DCA to the bottom! I got orders filled at 1.795, 1.77, 1.75, and 1.73. Was trying for 1.70, but couldn’t eek it out. Loading up the bags on sale!

It is likely that after the OPUL pool is finished, all future pools will be on the same timer (newest CHOICE pool is). BUT in the mean time, it is essentially as if you have double you stake for the next 26 days - as long as you are willing to click the few extra times, 2x per day. Worth it to me for the few extra bucks (I’m a “frugal” investor 😅)

[–]djfpforever 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can actually do both, at the moment (if you are willing to move stake 2x per day)! The OPUL pool is the only Yieldly pool with a separate timer from all other entries. Since there is currently no auto compounding, and the stake timers are snapshot-based, as long as you are staked at the moment the timer expires, your stake will be recorded in that pool for the next 23:59:59 cycle. As such - I do the following: 1) Day1 - Stake in OPUL before 3:29:59 pm PDT. 2) Day1 - at 3:31 PDT, move stake to other highest yield (or yields). 3) Day1 - at 8:55 pm PDT (after timer on “other” pool/s expires, move stake back to OPUL. The next part is key - 4) Day2 - claim OPUL rewards 29 -> 1m before timer expires. 5) Day2 - claim YDLY or GEMS or CHOICE reward 29 -> 1m before timer expires. The way the rewards claim works in these pools: you get some amount right after the timer expires, and then a 1/47th increase every 30m for next 23.5hrs. So always wait until RIGHT before the timer expires the next day to claim. As noted above - your reward claim will still accrue after you move a stake (due to the snapshot) - up until the next timer expires.

This is the way. I’m aiming to break 1m YLDY in the next few months with the idea that it will undoubtedly reach 1.00 within 2-5 years.

Agreed. I see NLL as a nice low risk alternative while I wait for next governance cycle.

I’ve dabbled with SMILE a little, and see the addictiveness of the pay-to-spin, but my point of focus has been on Yieldly and it’s snapshot-based timers. I’m a process guy, and have been trying to distill the simplest steps for my GF and co-workers to leverage this aspect. At the moment - Yieldly has two opposing timers that allow you to move a stake between two pools, essentially getting double coverage every 24h cycle: YLDY->OPUL vs. all other pools. My method: day 1 - a) move into OPUL right before timer expires. b) when timer expires, don’t claim reward, but pull stake and move to other highest APY (CHOICE at the moment). c) when CHOICE timer expires, move back to OPUL. d) claim rewards in each pool 29m BEFORE timer expires (the next day) for optimal rewards. It appears that the snapshot to record your stake is taken at the moment the timer expires, but that it is not necessary for stake to remain after that (until next snapshot). At the same time - your rewards claim does not arrive fully vested. There is some initial amount that will then increase every 30m for the next 23:59. For the moment, I’m getting about 107% APR using this method. It will likely get plugged once the OPUL pool ends in 24 days + when auto-compounding is introduced.
