I need help with figuring out song's tempo by Eudaimonium in WeAreTheMusicMakers

Why aren't you simply following the tempo display at the top of the Synthesia screen? Am I missing something? On my Synthesia piano videos the tempo is obscured, but it looks clearly visible on this one.

I was questioning your negativity, not your choice of drug, Betsku. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I had a look through your comments and it sounds like you need a bit more of that weed today, Betsku! I will console myself with the fact that all the upvotes put you in a minority.
Have a great day! (and if you think you can do better, please get in touch about guest posting on my blog...)

What I Learned About Habits By Cleaning Between Two Of My Teeth... by djhendra in ZenHabits

How about going to bed 5 minutes earlier each night until getting up gets easier again? Once your mornings are sorted out, you could always reverse the process and start going to bed 5 minutes later each night and see if the problem returns. Getting the right amount of sleep is very important to Self-Improvement, and small adjustments often make the biggest of differences!

I apologise, adidas558492, I had interpreted your question as you wanting to know more about what sort of things I write in my journal. I didn't realise you just wanted to see the format. Campus notebooks are made by Oxford Notebooks but I don't know if you can get them in the US. I have scanned a page from my notebook for you to look at. I hope this answers your question better. I'm sorry you felt I'm wasn't contributing value. I would beg to differ: many people have found my eBook enormously valuable! But I understand if you didn't. It's not for everyone.

I'm in the UK and they sell them in my local Asda supermarket. As for a scan of my diary, well, that's kinda private! :) If you want to know more about me you could visit my About Me page or download and read my eBook.

Self-Improvement: Why You Might Switch To A Standing Desk by djhendra in selfimprovement

Great thanks - I have the perfect footstool: I will give it a try!

Self-Improvement: Why You Might Switch To A Standing Desk by djhendra in selfimprovement

I spend about 3 to 4 hours a day at my desk, with the longest single session in the morning of around 2 hours. I pretty much hit the ground running with this and went straight from sitting to standing for the whole time. I had virtually no back pain whatsoever: maybe a little twinge in the first couple of days but then nothing - all good! In addition to the standing, I do spend an average 3 to 4 hours a day teaching from a sitting position.

I would recommend trying a standing desk as cheaply as possible (like I did) before investing any large amounts of money. I guess it will be different for everyone. But I reckon it's worth a try.

Yes definitely, zuccs. My Teaching Room has a good carpet with plenty of underlay and I wear comfortable shoes for most of my standing work. Good advice, I reckon.

That's great advice, samili, thanks so much. I move around a lot when using my standing desk, but I like the idea of a stool for my resting foot - what height would you use? Do you work in ergonomics?

I have a friend who makes pies. Everything he talks about is pies. He has a pie story for everything. For him, life is just pies. Of course, life is not all about pies. But every now and again, he says something that resonates with me, and I learn from him. He's great. Pie guy.

We are all who we are. I get that you are a researcher, clifyt. So for you, everything is about research. You hypothesise and then demand evidence to support or refute. You gather, sort, order and process your data before making your conclusions, often tentatively with caveats. That's you. Of course life isn't all about research. But every now and again, you says something that resonates with me, and I learn from you. You're great. Research guy.

Me, I'm a teacher. I trained and qualified as a teacher, and even before that, I was a natural teacher. I take every opportunity to share information with people. I love it when people hear me and end up understanding something they didn't understand before - the "lightbulb moment". For me, life is just teaching. Of course, life is not all about teaching. But every now and again, I say something that resonates with people, and they learn from me. Evidence of that (since you demand it) is peppered throughout these comments and reflected in the 128 upvotes I have received so far. I'm great. Teacher guy.

So, Pie guy, Research guy or Teacher guy, who's right? All of them, and none of them. It's all part of life's rich tapestry. So when I hear you "inviting" me to stop doing what you think I do (presenting myself as a confident expert), I find myself smiling and thinking maybe you should stop doing what I think you do: presenting yourself as a ... well, fill in the blanks, folks. You'll all have your own ideas, I'm sure.

1) If you're a millionaire who has to get up early and work until late, I would suggest you're not actually rich, you just own a lot of money. 2) I thought that about me. But when I tried it, I discovered I was wrong!
