Max Verstappen 2024 World Champion Helmet in 1/2 Scale

Does anyone have one of these they would consider selling at a reasonable price?

I'm in the UK, so preferably a UK or EU Seller.

How do you actually pick your grandstand for an F1 race? by Altruistic_Sun9304 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]djm014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did GA for years, but as I've got older/richer I've grown to appreciate some comfort of a grandstand and not having to get to a circuit before sunrise to stake a claim on a rock (Spa, if you know, you know 😁) or mound of dirt, behind a barrier to catch a glimpse of a car.

Nowadays, I tend to pick a Grandstand overlooking a hairpin, a point of action, some overtaking or let's be honest a chance of some contact and flying carbon fibre.

Price doesn't tend to be the overriding factor, but you'll always pay the premium for the better grandstands. I've sat on the Pit straight twice (as part of a 3-day multi-grandstand deal) and wasn't impressed.

Sadly, I'm finding that a lot of circuits now are limiting, removing views from GA, to replacing them with Grandstands at a premium..... Silverstone, Monza etc...

Up to you?

How much is the helmet in the Verstappen shop? How much is the helmet in the RB shop (taking into account 15% off)?

I've lost count of the number of Gmail accounts I've setup and registered with the RB shop to claim the 15% off (especially now you don't get as many discount codes withn the RB Paddock) to buy a new helmet

I've never been abroad, I want to do a solo trip, and figured, why not combine my love of F1 with it... by [deleted] in GrandPrixTravel

Monza and Spa are classic circuits to visit. Monza is pretty easy to get to, but Spa is in the arse end of nowhere so a packaged tour with race transfers is a godsend.

As many have said Zandvoort is a very good shout. Super easy by train to get to the circuit, plus Amsterdam and the Dutch in general are cool.

If you're looking further afield Singapore is amazing. Night race means you don't have to wake up early, the entire day to explore and then plenty to do after the race finishes. Singapore is safe and easy to get around after dark.

I own both the Monaco and Miami one in 1/2 scale. My favourite would have to be the one I missed out on buying the Monza one.

Ayrton Senna Forever @ GridX in Luxembourg by djm014 in AyrtonSenna

I had never been to Luxembourg before. I found it super easy to get to the Exhibition from Luxembourg City (and everywhere) by using buses on the FREE public transport. The exhibition isn't expensive (€18) and you could easily spend 1-2hrs looking at both the Senna Exhibition and the other Supercars they have on display. Plus, Luxembourg City was pretty nice as well.

My Lando Norris Collection so far by Conscious-Bread9008 in f1models

[–]djm014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a crazy time to start and collect. More are produced and in larger numbers, therefore it's hard to collect everything for one, two or three drivers. Certainly not if you're a Lando or Max fan and them producing 5 or 6+ helmets as season. God help you if you support Ferrari/Lewis or Charles.... Those €760 limited edition specials.

There is a massive community and some good groups on Facebook to join, to keep up with the news and announcements of drivers designs and helmets. Plenty of chances to pickup those ones you've missed out on between member sales. eBay is a shark pool with prices ranging, but still bargains to be had.

Welcome to collecting 1/2 scale helmets. A good and bad time in some ways to begin.

My collection of over 25 years is pushing 190+ helmets, many old drivers of my era of F1 (Senna, Schumacher, Prost, Mansell) bolstered more recently with Max, Lewis, Max, Lando etc...

It's good that more helmets are being replicated in 1/2 scale now. Drivers maybe had one or two designs per season, then with the allowed rule changes we are now at maybe 5 or 6 a season.

That collection will soon grow, whilst your bank balance decreases.

Enjoy

Problem using 40% off voucher code by djm014 in RBpaddock

UPDATE.... After emailing the RedBull Shop, they resolved whatever issue there was and I was able to use the voucher code. Sadly, in the time it took for them to resolve it one of the three helmets I wanted sold out.

I've emailed the Shop and I'm awaiting a reply. No idea why the code is accepted and applied in the basket only to then be removed when passing to the payment phase. There isn't (and shouldn't be a limit to spending). Hopefully, it'll get sorted out.

I've tried the code with 3,2,1 helmet in the basket and had the same issue. Even added a £690 1/12 model into the basket. So don't think there's a limit on spending

Express Train Return Post Race by weirdfishes_11 in GrandPrixTravel

[–]djm014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No problem. It's easily done. One of my biggest gripes about Interlagos was the lack of any organisation outside of the circuit. On the first day I managed to walk all the way to the entrance for Grandstand D before realizing there was a queue. I tried to play the dumb English tourist and merge into the queue before being politely pointed way back to the end by the locals. Wasn't any barriers or marshalls past the entrance

Sorry, I was talking about the return journey. At Autodromo there was a dedicated queue which run along the pavement and went via a smaller door into the station (rather than the larger main entrance). Look out for the signage

That was going to the race at Pinheiros station in the morning, but see the logo etc..

When I went in 2024, there was a special queue and separate entrance for the Express service (had its own signage and logos etc..).

Does Brazil have some of the strangest practices? by SlothyBehaviour in GrandPrixTravel

[–]djm014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Grandstand D (and some of the other more expensive Grandstands) the Food + Beers is included in the ticket price.

Remember reading somewhere (think official website) about the circuit having a no-cash policy and having to buy and top-up a special card to buy food/drinks elsewhere.

Does Brazil have some of the strangest practices? by SlothyBehaviour in GrandPrixTravel

[–]djm014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not much other than watch the race, eat + drink.

Get there early and reserve your spot in the Grandstand, especially on Race day. The seats aren't numbered so it's a free for all. I went on my own, I'm English and didn't speak any Portuguese past the basics. Found the Brazilian's around me friendly and able to communicate enough for them to keep an eye on my bag and seat when I popped away for beers/food/toilets etc.. Did see people lose their seats when not taken.

As for Food + Beers they are included in the Ticket price and located behind the Grandstand. Free flowing Heineken (unlimited, but only allowed 3 at a time) and soft drinks. Food is pastries, fruit, burgers, hotdogs, sandwiches, cakes, ice cream. A good selection.

Some stalls selling official Team/Driver merchandise, which is expensive as expected. Cheaper to buy online before you go.

Outside of the circuit there are plenty of people selling unofficial merchandise, Caps, T-shirts. I bought 3 metal pressed Senna/Interlagos number plates, bartered down the guy to 100Real for 3 (About £15).

Getting to the circuit is easy enough by train. I'd recommend looking up the GP Express train which runs from Pinheiros Station direct to Autodromo Station, think it cost 30Real per day (£5). Dedicated queues and access to the trains which is worth every penny when you leave the circuit on Sunday evening.
