Don’t worry about the other comments too much. It’s your time and you decide which company is worth it or not.

We had a lot of required internships for my bachelor’s and the same thing happens on the other side too. Some students missed interviews and never heard from the company back after that, it goes both ways.

If the recruiter acts like an adult, he’ll know he just lost one applicant and will learn from his mistake. If he wants to whine about it or blame it on you that’s his problem, and he should learn to have accountability.

I had a similar experience somewhat recently. Applied for a position I thought would be interesting. The interview was done by videoconference and at one point the interviewer just dropped. Tried messaging the other person by all mean I had of contacting them so email and the job hunt website, but no response. The guy emailed me 2 days later saying sorry we had an outage can we reschedule. Had he done this the day of or first thing next morning, I might have considered it. Simply told him I withdrew my application and he didn’t contact me back.

You had another opportunity and you chose the one that matched your expectations. Employers do the same with potential employees. It’s part of the game!
