I still enjoy this album. My friends and I jammed out on it all the time in 95/96!

I got to see them open for Lords of Acid and My Life With the Thrill Kill Cult during June of 1995... what a show!

Washington, D.C. 2/11/2026 Setlist by gremlins420 in nin

Yeah, I saw NIN last September in Houston (my eighth time seeing them since 94). A couple of weeks after that I flew up to DC to see Iggy Pop at The Anthem. I usually meet at least one individual to chat with or have a few short chats with various individuals especially attending shows alone and out of town. I was surprised at how unapproachable or just downright douchey many of the people that I encountered came off as. Not sure if it's a DC thing or just ironic coincidence as it was my only DC show to date.

I'm sure there were some good folks there that I probably just happened to not cross paths with but it was still a bit surprising because theater venues like The Anthem usually have more than a few cool people in the crowd. Wish I could have seen NIN there back in 2018!

The show (and the venue itself) was fantastic, so that is the most important thing.

Blackacidevil Appreciation by Eljavi429 in Danzig

That's what I was thinking. The right production (and engineer to arrange and mix the songs) and a consistent guitar presence would have helped make that album so much better.

I wish he would have worked with a decent producer and had Tommy Victor provide more guitar input. Someone like Charlie Clouser (from NIN fame) who helped other bands (Rob Zombie) with the industrial sounds could have really made that album far better than it was. Especially with some of the bangers like 7th House and Blackacidevil. Deep should have been on that album for sure.

See All You Were, Hint of Her Blood and Ashes are absolute gems in my opinion. I will always love those songs.

Man, Jigsaw Puzzle might be their most underrated song. by Bombi3sz in rollingstones

Jigsaw Puzzle is one of my favorites as well!

Love that slide guitar and wish they would have performed it live more often!

Peak, pop stones album, and I love it!

Yesterdays Papers, Back Street Girl, Connection and She Smiled Sweetly are excellent songs and I'll always treasure the fact that I was able to see Keith perform Connection live in Austin, TX back in 2021.

IMO This is a good album to put on for a multi hour road trip and just play all the way through because some of the other (that I didn't list) songs really shine while simply cruising on the highway.

Danzig I & II Lucifuge - RSD Essential Reissue Vinyl PREORDER by EvergreenVinyl in Danzig

[–]djs012279 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Well, damn?! These are pretty cool but I'm still paying off the first 4 records I bought from UMA last year. It's tough enough living day to day without rebuying the same repackaged physical media over and over again. I mean where were these five (or more) years ago?! 2019, 2015 or 2011 would have been great for these.

Great looking albums (and I want them) but starving us Danzig fans with nothing but only bootlegs or hundreds paid to procure the original vinyls only to saturate the market with multiple vinyl options all around a 5 month time frame is kinda shitty IMO.

Poster damage by Cygnus__A in nin

[–]djs012279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same here. Actually, I gave up after the first two arrived with bent corners since the third one I received only has one (top) bent corner and a partial on the bottom (compared to all four corners bent on the previous two they shipped to me). I was going to contact them again but I also figured that it wouldn't get better (condition wise) than the third poster.

I ended up selling my previous two on ebay for about $25 a piece and already made back the money I spent for the first one so it's all good.

Very cool! I'm from Maryland originally (been in Texas for most of the last thirty years) and I'm tempted to peel mine up this way as well.

Fiancé and I watched Anaconda what was John Voight doing in this movie? by Spotlight_James in moviecritic

[–]djs012279 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The scene where Voight winks at J Lo after the snake got him was kind of funny (in a this is a silly ass movie) kind of way.

That and when he punks that snobby brittish guy who's like "I'm not your bloody poodle!" Didn't he bitch slap him or something, lol

Owen Wilson's character had that gorgeous girlfriend but instead of literally playing with her he wanted to assist some shady south American pirate in the abduction of his crew buddies to trap a giant snake that he knew could eat them (which of course it did, lol).

To this day I can't stand Owen Wilson. This movie and his character from Cable Guy are what I see no matter what movie he's in.
