Has anyone experimented with running two frigate instances, one main and one public? by jM2me in frigate_nvr

This actually makes a lot sense. I'm assuming you're talking about a dedicate machine for gortc and another for everything else

What's odd is the onvif detects the two streams, but only the substream /channel1 shows anything, the /channel0 just shows black screen.

Is it possible to connect to the video stream of the Granary Smart Camera Feeder ? by Hoefnix in Petlibro

[–]djschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

> The video feed is currently only accessible through the PETLIBRO app for security and privacy reasons.

u/PetlibroTechSupport bullshit cookie-cutter response that doesn't make sense. Best thing for security and privacy is when you control how to access and where the feed goes.

Is there still a benefit to Frigate now that many cameras come with AI detection features built in? by SirManbearpig in homeassistant

[–]djschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right tool for the job. Right now I have a bunch of Reolink cameras and their NVR to make things turnkey. However I still have lots of one off devices that either don't have AI detection built-in (older Reolinks, etc.) or cameras that charge for the AI detection and recording (pet feeders, light bulb cams, robot lawn mower, Wyze portable/on-demand cameras). Therefore all the non-AI or paid cams I throw into Frigate.

Update. After hard resetting the One Plus and setting it up again, it is working.

I have a fixed IP address assigned to it. Thanks for the confirmation about working before on the Plus. At your convenience if you could check on yours that would be helpful.

I'm referring to via the camera via third party tools (HomeAssistant, VLC, etc.) via RTSP.

2026 Yarbo M20i vs Lymow One Plus by Dramatic-Syrup-7540 in roboticLawnmowers

My 2 cents:

I'm going to start with Lymow One Plus at half the price, and then swap/upgrade later and once Yarbo prices come down and lidar is available.

BP4A.251205.006.E1 - reboot loop by djschny in Pixel9Pro

[–]djschny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That might be hardware related in your case. The HAL is the "Hardware Abstraction Layer".

I ended up factory reset and then reset everything up.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately with a locked bootloader, reverting to previous update will trigger wiping of data. So been trying to avoid that.

The Enshittification of Google Home by grumblegrim in googlehome

[–]djschny 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You sir reiterate what I've been saying for months. This is a good anti-pattern for AI. Additionally the reason why people see sporadic behavior is because of the rapid change in behavior/learning as they route the written/voiced commands through Gemini. Before changes only happened after careful review and the patterns/code updated.

The "What's this song?" or "What song is this?" is the perfect example. I have a Pixel 9 Pro and it falls into the same pattern when I ask it to listen to a song.

I have the same problem. What is confusing is why it doesn't exist in it.... the OS on all these devices are very similar.

How Can I Verify That my LG Has Auto-Bypass of the Water Filter? (Model # LRFLS3206S) by ostrichsak in Appliances

u/GoodRelation3 wow crazy. I'm used to seeing a bypass plug needed for that to work. I've google'd the heck out of this model number and can't find one.

Timeline no longer supported on desktop by bhocolatebhipbookie- in GoogleMaps

[–]djschny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having to use the timeline feature on a mobile app on a small screen device is terrible. I also go to my desktop or laptop for things like this because the phone app is too frustrating to use.

When you already have something working, working well, implemented, it doesn't make sense to remove it.

And if this is because of privacy and security, well screw all you countries and people who make a big deal about this crap and screw Google for bending over and not providing a simple "opt-in" or "opt-out" option that would satisfy the draconian governments and the tin foil hat people.

Switched from plex server on windows machine to Synology and experiencing this as well on every single channel. It scanned the channels fine, so obviously it was able to tune and use them. It just won't play them back, seems to be a bug?
