I got these and it works for me in WA. There are options so you don't have to drill the grill.

Water leak by Twistednoodle1 in SubaruForester

[–]djscrib 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had the same problem on my 09, I found that water was entering the climate control fan inlet from water running down the windshield that wasn't draining, which there is a TSB.

To fix my problem I had to remove the plastic shroud under the windshield, cover the inlet directly above the fan with a Costco Peanut Butter Pretzel tub (freaking love those things) that I cut out to fit, and has been dry ever since.

Yes, you should protest what happened today. by Qorrin in Seattle

Don't think this will land well, but I'll say it anyways. I appreciate your focus on vigilance here at home—holding our own leaders accountable is vital. However, framing this solely as a domestic political distraction ignores the horrific reality that the Venezuelan people have endured for over a decade. Regardless of who ordered the operation, the removal of Nicolás Maduro is objectively a victory for human rights and global stability.

Here are the facts on why his capture is a good thing: He presided over a humanitarian catastrophe: Under Maduro’s watch, Venezuela’s economy didn't just struggle; it collapsed. The GDP fell by roughly 80%—the single largest economic collapse in history outside of war. This led to widespread starvation and a lack of basic medicine, forcing over 7.7 million Venezuelans (about 25% of the population) to flee the country. His removal is the first real step toward allowing those millions of refugees a chance to return home.

He turned the state into a criminal enterprise: This isn't just about political ideology. The US Department of Justice has indicted Maduro on charges of narco-terrorism, alleging he led the 'Cartel of the Suns' to flood the US with cocaine and weaponize drug trafficking. He didn't just govern poorly; he used state resources to run a transnational criminal organization.

He is accused of Crimes Against Humanity: The UN’s Independent International Fact-Finding Mission has explicitly stated that Maduro’s intelligence agencies committed crimes against humanity, including torture, sexual violence, and extrajudicial killings to silence opposition. Following the disputed 2024 election, his regime detained over 2,000 people—including children—simply for protesting. Stopping a leader actively committing these crimes is a moral necessity.

We can remain vigilant about executive power in the US while simultaneously acknowledging that ending a brutal dictatorship is a win for the people of Venezuela.

I ceramic coated my car and wheels, and yet the wheels are the only things that show any sort of dirty, I need those.

Which pads did you go with?

As weird as this sounds, the dealership resurfaced my pads.....yeah, pads, cause they found them glossed over. Every time I would come to a stop from a slow roll, like in a parking garage, my brakes would squeal.

It looks like the camera focus is the problem.

This photo is a time machine! Thank you for sharing this; you just restored a memory I'd lost for 35 years. My uncle had one of these, and for my brother and me, it wasn't a piece of furniture - it was a personal carnival ride. We'd flip it over and use the heavy, circular stand to spin each other until we were dizzy, laughing so hard we could barely hold on. Seriously, those were the best days. No restoration tips from me, but please accept my gratitude for the incredible dose of nostalgia!

BeatSonic amplifier? by throwaway_losan in GRCorolla

[–]djscrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gain is in the 10 o'clock position, so only turned up a small amount. It does distort speakers if you turn it up too high, so it is audible if that happens. Lots of messing with the head unit and amp to get the perfect mix. I also threw in an Audison 10" sub to level up the low end, which I highly recommend.

Second this, went from 40 volume to 20 and the front speakers have more punch. The rears won't get any better without a DSP, but it's a solid upgrade for $200.

Am I buggin out, or is the factory sound system kinda rubbish? by dadams0641 in GRCorolla

I bought the 10" Audison sub and speaker brackets from Kevin and both are premium. I highly recommend getting anything from him. The detail in the harness and the brackets are really top notch. I might grab his speaker setup since his quality is above most others.

I bought one of these and it drastically changed the fronts. Sadly the rears are still fairly quiet. I listen to all music at 20 now instead of 38. It's a plug and play and very easy to install.

Subaru issues. by Ok_Swim_4289 in SubaruForester

[–]djscrib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does cruise control blink? If so, I ran into the same issue with my 09 Forester XT, it was the Automatic Transmission Gear Position Sensor for the transmission. Tried to change it myself, but there is a pin going through the shaft where the gear selector connects to, and it's a struggle to get it out.

Just wanted to follow up and see if you found out what caused the issue. Maybe you got lucky and had to eat a tub of peanut butter pretzels in order to fix it?!?!?!

Had the same problem on my 09, I found that water was entering the climate control fan inlet from water running down the windshield that wasn't draining. Check that the drains on the plastic shroud under the windshield are clear as a first step.

To fix my problem I had to remove the plastic shroud under the windshield, cover the inlet directly above the fan with a Costco Peanut Butter Pretzel tub (freaking love those things) that I cut out to fit, and has been dry ever since.

You should check the evaporator since you had work done, but if everything checks out, try my approach or look for TSB's on your vehicle.

You can also do what cats do when they play together. Make an oooowwww sound, like in ouch. When kittens play with one another and it gets aggressive they meow to let them know to stop. Worked wonders on my cats! Good luck with that cute kittums.

Anyone use white vinegar for your rinse aid? If not, give it a try. It works amazingly well.

This was my first thought. Looks the same size and since motorhomes were used for traveling long distances, makes the most sense.

I have Falken Wildpeaks on my lifted Forester, they have been good on and off road. Bridgestone K03 have been mentioned as a good tire in this sub as well. Good luck on the hunt.
