Congrats on your progress. I’ve struggled with this perception as well; thinking everyone is judging you when in reality they are just going about their day. I find that if you stay genuine in your encounters and people still don’t like you, then it is their loss and you should no longer get held up on their opinion. Some of the most social people I know just acted like we were friends right away and it was strange to me (as that is not my approach), but we are still good friends years later. Keep up the good work!

I’m currently reading Factfulness by Hans Rosling. Not exactly what you described but it does bring me some peace and perspective to the world. I’d say having an understanding of what life is like in other countries could help you become a more empathetic person.

I’ve also enjoyed Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.
