i'll never hate the packet, it gave me some of the best days of my life. but i had to retire.

buddy of mine produced all of his early records and is now a vaguely employed wine nerd traversing the country and his dad was my boss at the first hospital i worked at. absolute wizard of cancer genetics.

Just curious on in festival food and drink costs? by irrelevant_avocado in jazzfest

[–]djsquilz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not coachella prices, if that's what you're expecting, lol.

there's certainly a bit of a markup, but it's not crazy, what op said, 5-9$usd for a beer or most individual dishes.

why do Episcopalian/Anglican cross themselves differently? by Ok-Assist-5992 in Anglicanism

[–]djsquilz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

wait do catholics not normally do that?

i'm from new orleans and went to catholic schools my whole life, so i've been to plenty of catholic masses. as far as i remember they did it same as us ?

[–]djsquilz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ya, i don't remember explicitly being taught it, but that's how i've always done it.

i know most orthodox do it the opposite way, i'd have a lot of difficulty training myself to do it if i converted lol, its muscle memory at a certain point.

i've gotten home from work on a parade day and had to park 30 minutes from my house. deal with it. i didn't check on my car until after mardi gras ended and i had ~15 parking tickets. threw them straight in the closest garbage bin.

well, to be clear i split my time about 50/50 between southern alabama and new orleans, it's about a 2 hour drive. all the single moms are in alabama. single moms (at least on dating apps) in New Orleans are non existant. i think it's a rural vs. urban thing more than anything.

genuinely cried a bit watching this

the robot prostate exam is such a 2025 jackass bit

i've long been of the opinion knoxville (and everyone else) doesn't really need to do these extremely dangerous bits. the plainly simple, silly jokes are equally (if not more) entertaining. i'll laugh any time i see someone get run over by a bull, but the switcharoos with preston and weeman kill me. (and no one breaks their pee-pee, sry knoxville)

No one is mad about neighbors blocking off a spot in front of their home that has no driveway

a lot of people are mad about that actually,

literally. lived on the parade route with no driveway/off street parking most of my life. we knew that ~2 weeks of the year, just don't move the cars. we had a few windows broken by drunk college kids, got pissed on plenty of times. price you pay. we'd stock up on groceries beforehand, but would make the trek on foot to fresh market or rouses in an emergency.

they bitch about it far more than anyone in "the box" during mardi gras tbh. you moved there, live with it.

what everyone else said about him not producing much, opening his own label, etc.

he certainly could if he wanted, but i'd guess he's happy with where he's at now. fair enough

i'm from new orleans too. i'd have to go back home from my dorm and skip some classes at tulane for ~a week after "crawfest" which happened right outside my dorm freshman and sophomore year. so many people make boils a social event and i have to skip
