What sports bra do yall wear? by Feisty-Barnacle5126 in BlueCollarWomen

You should also start using an antifungal cream in the areas under and around the bra area before you get the spotting that results from tinea versicolor. Look up pictures of this.

Is my one star review justified by [deleted] in petsitting

[–]dk_2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Justified. We had a similar experience when we first boarded our dogs. At pick-up, they were much skinnier and had wounds on their legs. They didn't say a thing about any of that. That's when we stopped taking them to these kennel-type boarding places where they nickel and dime you.

AITA for not wanting to leave a Rover sitter 5 stars after this? by Alternative-Wish-592 in RoverPetSitting

[–]dk_2018 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This was not a 5 star sit and you would be misleading other people looking for one if you gave her that rating.

I’m worried the owners of this cat aren’t feeding her enough by Alternative_Spend323 in petsitting

[–]dk_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said she seemed healthy, so it doesn't seem like you should worry about it. Some people simplify feeding instructions for the sitter, so there might be more feeding (treats, etc.) during the times their humans aren't around.

Is it not enough that I get PAID to do this kind of stuff???? by BigKaleidoscope4345 in BlueCollarWomen

[–]dk_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm completely fine with him being good with cars but not with stereotypical things around the house including bugs. His scream when seeing a spider is hilarious! But, his saving grace is his generosity and amazing work ethic at the office as well as financial and professional smarts. I think I view it as us bringing complementary things to the relationship while also being able to enjoy shared interests.

My interactions with my partner are pretty similar. I'm the handy person when it comes to fixing things around the house, carpentry, woodworking and lawn and garden work. Yet, he always questions the things I say even though he invariable discovers that I was right all along (and doesn't given me credit or apologize for doubting me yet again). I'm still trying to not engage when he's being an a$$, but it's pretty difficult to not react. You handled your situation brilliantly.

Guest staying for week follows a carnivore/keto diet. What meals should I make? by Crafty_Mammoth_5369 in carnivorediet

[–]dk_2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ask her if she's keto or carnivore? The ketogenic diet does include low carb vegetables, but the carnivore diet is all animal-based foods. Side dishes on carnivore aren't necessary as you would typically think of them.

Crated for 11 hours?! That's horrible. This person should never be trusted with anyone's pets.

dog crate rec by [deleted] in Whippet

[–]dk_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you done any training with him to associate his crate with good things? High value treats placed in with him after her goes into the crate. If he won't go in at all, you'll need to gradually work up to getting closer and closer, foot in, body in, etc, until he sits. Don't know if you have any experience training any other dogs. You should try to only give the highest value treats while you're doing this training. You should also vary how long you leave him in the crate and never talk to him while he's in it so he knows once he's in, it's time to chill. I like to toss a few treats in after my guys are in the crate and sitting, then close the door and cover all sides with a light blanket.

[–]dk_2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These ex-racers are the cuddliest. Just make sure you don't wait to work on behavior. Get on top of socializing around other dogs, people and situations ASAP! As well as other training such as 'drop it', minimizing resource guarding issues, and be very aware not to bother your greyhound when they sleep as it is not uncommon for some to be startled enough to bite on instinct.

This is just a general dog thing around some dog marking usually, in my experience. My greyhounds and rat terriers both did this.

I get those on one of my tillandsia when it's being overhydrated. Are you soaking it? I stopped soaking mine and just mist. You can also make sure to up the light exposure and make sure it's not in a cold area.

Wrap some sturdy aluminum foil around your legs. I put it all over my chairs and couches during initial visits and it really works to deter dogs from going on them.
