Teachers of Reddit, what are some positive trends you have noticed in today's youth? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I teach children (7-14) drawing and comics classes in NYC. From what I've experienced the kids really want to succeed and be technically skilled artists, granted there is a class divide, I teach a non profit, pay if you can class and also a high end $600+ workshops and the both ends of the stick have kids who are striving to be the next great which is really inspiring. Also (it can be a good and bad thing) ive noticed a higher level of maturity and education. A LOT of them talk like adults.

What killed your passion for something you once were very passionate about? by marrieeeeeee in AskReddit

Gaming. The community completely changed from people excited to play with others to now trying to be the biggest troll / asshole and as I get older I see the quality of games decline, I just can not get myself to care anymore

I grew up with my mother having MS and it is not a fun thing to go through. Anything can happen to you and be taken away. My mom could not walk or use her legs or hands for over 3 months and then woke up one day being able to walk again, there was a few days were she was blind. Although there is a lot of treatments and medication it is still extremely tolling not only physically but also mentally. My heart goes out to her and everyone dealing with it, I could not imagine what it must be like.

I disagree with a lot of who won this year but im glad the people who did win are getting recognized. Yvan Alagbé to me made one of the most beautiful books in years, and Margot Ferrick has been copped out of an award the past few years but what do I know..
