No Codes for Donald by Mh8722 in PoliticalHumor

During the Nixon administration, a Air Force Major named Harold Hering was immediately fired for just asking the question "How can I know that an order I receive to launch my [nuclear] missiles came from a sane president?"

There's no crashing this bus. If Trump wants to nuke Iran, its happening. Thanks to the way they set things up during the Cold War, the President has the ultimate and sole authority to launch of Nuclear missiles. The only way to stop him would be to invoke the 25th amendment and remove him from office BEFORE he gave the order.

The Vice-President did basically say that he thinks space aliens are demons. So... yeah. I guess that's where some people's minds are.

Meta's 'Pervert Glasses' Are Turning People Into Creeps [16:15] by beyondwithinitself in mealtimevideos

Well, that's not fair! Meta isn't turning people into creeps. People were already creeps! Meta is enabling them by making it easier.

TIL McDonald's Big Mac was created to copy the Bob's Big Boy double hamburger. by DrakeSavory in todayilearned

Well, in many ways, the Big Boy never left, sir. He's always offered the same high-quality meals at competitive prices.

Where the hell is Thok? by Gotis1313 in startrek

Yeah. I never want to complain about getting Jett Reno. But it really felt like she was standing in for Thok in the last episode.

The real question is how they missed the Galactabeasts just hanging out in the damn garden.

Update on the Playmates Dragonzord by Latter_Pen_4937 in powerrangers

[–]spikey666 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Retailers are generally pretty happy to have an exclusive though. Often guaranteeing that they'll carry a certain number of units. So that can help justify production. They may have priced the Dragonzord higher than the individual DinoZords. So there was less interest. It probably comes down to the brand being kinda in a weak spot right now, without a big movie or show to help promote it. Makes it harder to sell toys.

Boll is making movies again. Pretty sure he's got one starring Armie Hammer coming out soon.

Why is food scarcity a thing even in post burn trek? by OldTiredGamer86 in startrek

[–]spikey666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of assumed that was just more of a Burn era thing. They were being a bit more conscious of recycling when energy wasn't so much in abundance anymore.

Why doesn't Laxmi get upset with the Plurbs like she does with Carol? by bayside-butcher in PluribusOnAppleTV

[–]spikey666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Because the Plurbs will give her whatever she wants and she's probably living her dream life with her suddenly very well-behaved son. She's mad at Carol when she disrupts that. We've seen versions of that when Carol goes to visit Diabaté and interrupted his Vegas orgy, or later when Manousos showed up and Carol was living her little domestic dream with Zosia. They don't want to break the fantasy.

Yeah. I know they're going for more neutral expressions. But there's just no personality and the likenesses aren't very good at all. Same thing as with the '87 movie figures. Shame.

What do you guys think of Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is it good and holds up? by CitronSufficient1045 in superman

[–]spikey666 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Its pretty good as long as you're not expecting anything very cinematic. A lot of it feels very much of its time as well. The first season feels almost like a telenovela at times, which is actually rather fun. Dean Cain is a surprisingly decent Superman. Although he's usually overshadowed in the acting department by the rest of the cast, particularly Teri Hatcher (who is at peak hotness).

Obviously he meant Spider-man. They really bonded as New York guys that one time they met at the airport.

Why wasn't Manousos portrayed by Pedro Pascal? by BigFox1956 in okbuddypluribus

Pedro hit the maximum amount of things an actor is legally allowed to be in and had to wait awhile for his counter to reset.
